To be the champ at 147?

To be the real champ do you need to beat Floyd Mayweather?

I was thinking about this in relation to another thread, but there really is not lineal champ at 147 right now since Floyd retired leaving his belt but Floyd never lost his belt in the ring so he still has some claim so if he is out there with no loses and competeing in that class.

So if you want to be the real recognized champ to all at 147 do you need to see Floyd Mayweather. There really is no right or wrong and I really don't care either way but the is more of a philosophical questions abotu how people look at champions (not titlests champions).

At 147 why? When did he become champ of the division? Maybe I missed that.

When Floyd left he was #1 because he beat Mosley, but I really couldn't tell you!!The reason is to get a fight with either Floyd or Manny,(with Floyd he has to be almost positive that he can beat you) & with Manny, the same,or else you won't be able to fight at the limit,he'll need you at a catchweight!!I think 147 is on pause until they both retire for good,my honest opinion!!

I know what the ratings are~ Floyd is the last real champion (of this class), if someone else were to come along and claim the vacent belt (without fighting Floyd) to consider that guy the real champion do they need to go see Floyd (or atleast try to fight him).

idk. i dont really take ring mag to seriously. they usually have their top 2 or 3 right but its to popularity driven. i think if you beat 3 of the top 5 that ought to be enough with out ducking...

Not talking about the Mosley fight I am talking about before he retired, he was the champ then left (so the championship is currently vacent) but he never lost and returned to the same class which he left.

So if someone else is able to gain that status (without fighting Floyd) do they need to go try to see Floyd to cement their status, because Floyd can always say "hey I never lost I am still the champ" so for me for someone else to be the true recognized guy at 147 they need to clean out Floyd (or atleast try since he is picky about who he fights).
