Sometimes losing the last few pounds is best left to do in the last week, so the fighter doesn't have to spend so much time at a weight he's too big for.
If you remember the De La Hoya 24/7, Oscar was trying to make 147 for the first time in years, so he thought it was to make weight as soon as possible and live at the weight, so after training would be around 145. This backfired on him and made him a mummy needing IV's on fight night.
Spending too much time at the target weight can be harmful for fighters who are too big for a weight. Margarito will lose a pound or 2 a day until the weigh in and only spend a couple days at 150. Losing the weight quick (but gradually) will let him put it back on quick too. Marg will be putting on some 10+ pounds after weighing in.

Possibly.... but if that's the case why would anyone think Pac would EVER lose to Margarito. He's a come forward slugger that wont be denied (unless he fights a smart, slick counter puncher) either....
I just want the BEST fighting the best. If Pac wants a title at 154 than Martinez (who's the same size as Margarito) is the man to fight! An old man in Mosley exposed Margarito. There is no reason for Pac to be fighting him as we all know how it will end......
