    It's a martial art.

And you don't need gloves to box either.

Of course its a martial art. Although some people think it is a very limited form of martial art it still is. Probably one that can be learnt quite quickly for the real world and probably a lot less to learn.

Boxing using gloves and fighting in a squared ring is a sport.

Boxing as in using your hands to defend and attack your opponent is a Martial Art.

Look up Wing Chun and Chinese Boxing, kids.

Martial art is a codified combat system with the objective to physically defeat other persons or defend oneself or others from physical threat. Combat system with a code of discipline, self control, respect, courage. I believe boxing is a martial arts too.

There is evidence to suggest boxing in some form or other has been around since the Sumerians in the 3rd millennium B.C, there is also an ancient Egyptian picture from the 2nd millennium BC that depicts two fist-fighters and spectators. There were also different forms of ancient Greek and Roman boxing.

T.S Boxing is a form of martial arts and that shouldn’t even be up for debate it firmly falls into the definition of martial arts.
