Not all states have banned it. You are comparing apples to oranges.Xylocaine is legal and Floyd would have been in trouble using it a few days before the fight.
What is your main point? The issue is not something legal-it is something illegal.Xylocaine at the present,is legal where Floyd has fought.Hell, even Manny can make that his drug of choice!Comment

My point... I have a problem with people saying "oh well it's legal in Nevada" then go ahead and say "Nevada's rules aren't good enough"Not all states have banned it. You are comparing apples to oranges.Xylocaine is legal and Floyd would have been in trouble using it a few days before the fight.

Does xylocaine help Floyd if he cannot have it on the night of the fight? Just because you numb your pain in training doesn't mean that you are numb in the fight.
Also, numbing your hands will not protect brittle hands from being broken, bruised, fractured, etc....
The xylocaine debate is really clutching at straws...perhaps you would consider asprin a PED since it relieves aches and you can hit a punching bag without a migraine!....sighComment

So then you are a firm believer in stagnation? There are laws that I agree with and ones that need updating due to progression as a society-should we adjust or fall behind???
The concern should lay in implementing ways to identify cheaters taking ILLEGAL drugs, not fighters taking pain killers that are deemed legal.Last edited by damned1974; 11-04-2010, 12:12 AM.Comment

Yes it does, he gets more reps in because of it. Some people don't have great cardio so they take EPO; some people aren't very muscular so they take anabolics; and some people like Floyd have brittle hands so they take numbing agents.Does xylocaine help Floyd if he cannot have it on the night of the fight? Just because you numb your pain in training doesn't mean that you are numb in the fight.
