If you think that boxing on the outside while darting in for offensive flurries and getting back out of range before the opponent can counter, equates to running, then many of the greatest fighters of all time are runners in your book, including Ray Robinson, Ray Leonard and Ali.

Lol, I don't recall giving a definition of running. Khan said he was gonna fight not run, well ur discription is of boxing. Not fighting, nor running... boxing. I said Amir's gonna run.

It's because Khan is clearly a much more talented fighter, and he almost certainly will win at least a decision, unless Maidana can stop him.

So the question is, can Maidana land flush enough to stop Khan, or has Khan a.) markedly improved his technique/defence b.) there is truth to the idea that Khan was drained at 135 c.) has the focus to stick to the job for 12 rounds, and the will to get up and dig deep if he gets caught.

He most likely has those four things covered, but it's a funny old game, and Maidana could change the course of the fight with one punch.

Who knows, maybe both Maidana and Margarito have more chance than I have been giving them..... Maidana certainly so more than Marg. For his one-punch power I mean, not coz I dont like Marg

How is it Ortiz??He has done nothing in his career for anyone to feel he is close to the num 1 or even a top 5 fighter..Know you can make an argument that Khan and Maidana are tied for 2end and this fight will put one clearly at second..But Bradley is the num 1 fighter in this div with Devon being 2end or 3rd in this div,Ortiz is way off and has done nothing to get him self even in the top 5 at this point...Boy oh boy is Ortiz overrated...

I don't see how Ortiz is overrated, but Maidana's not. Maidana's biggest win is Ortiz, and if Ortiz is overrated, considering he was winning the fight, it just makes me wonder how the hell anyone can put Maidana in the top 4. Especially since he lost to Kotelnik.

Holt's a devastating puncher and Bradley got up immediately after the knockdown and won the fight.

That's not the same as getting knocked out in 54 seconds.

I don't see how Ortiz is overrated, but Maidana's not. Maidana's biggest win is Ortiz, and if Ortiz is overrated, considering he was winning the fight, it just makes me wonder how the hell anyone can put Maidana in the top 4. Especially since he lost to Kotelnik.

DEC 11th still seems so far away, atleast we have some great fight in this month to look forward to.

I am still going for Maidana by KO, but this fight is really close to call.

Been looking forward to this one for a while. I'm turning on the Khan issue. Since he's stepping up for us now, I'm actually rooting for him in this one. I'm still worried he'll collapse as soon as Maidana touches his chin with a serious power punch though. If by some chance he can take it, I'm anticipating he wins an easy decision. Look for a clinic by Khan, whether or not he makes it to the final bell. I don't see Maidana getting any rounds without dropping him.

U gotta be kidding. Round 1 was a draw but it could have gone to Maidana. Round 2 went to Ortiz by 2 KD's. Round 3 and 4 saw Ortiz out fight Maidana. It really wasn't until the END of round 5 Maidana started getting the upper hand. I assure u, Ortiz was winning.

All 3 judges had it 45 - 48. Numerically, it's impossible for Maidana to have 48 points on the judges scorecards by the end of the fight.

And many people felt Maidana beat Kotelnik, but many people also felt Kotelnik beat Maidana. That was close fight, not a robbery.

Look at it this way, Ortiz destroys Might Mike in 2 rounds, loses to Maidana in a fight he was winning. Then goes on to KO a tough vet in Antonio Diaz. KO Alatorre. Dominate a hesitant vet in Campbell. And KO a 3rd vet in Harris.

While Maidana loses to Kotelnik, lands a lucky shot against Ortiz, beats a hungry, yet unproven prospect in Cayo, and struggles in a life and death fight against Corley. So u got 4 KO's a loss and a dominant decision, against 2 KO's of unproven prospects, a loss, and an ugly decision.

Like I've said before, there's no problem placing Maidana ahead of Ortiz, but that is only BARELY. But to say Maidana is possibly ranked #2 in the division, while Ortiz doesn't even make top 5? We're talking Bradley, Khan, Kotelnik, Alexander, Ortiz, and Maidana as top in the division. If u were gonna rank u should have it Bradley, Khan, Alexander (barely ahead of Kotelnik), Kotelnik, Maidana (barely ahead of Ortiz), and Ortiz.

If ur gonna put Maidana any higher than #5 in the division, than Ortiz is right behind him. Truthfully Alexander is where he's at based purely off of potential.

He never runs, he boxes on the outside, which is why I contradicted you. And reportedly he has recently has been working on boxing in the pocket with Roach, which I suspect is what he was referring to in that interview, and we might see a bit of that in this fight, although I'm sure he will mostly box on the outside. But he won't run and never has.
