A Pacquiao win will not equate to 8 in 8... However...

A Margarito win will result in him being the legitimate Jr Middleweight Champion of the World. He already holds a decisive victory against 154 titleholder Miguel Cotto, K-9 Bundrage's strap holding days are numbered, and who the hell is Sergei Dzinziruk? And Tony draining himself to 150 and winning the 154lbs championship is even more reason to consider him the Jr Middleweight kingpin.

I'm a huge Manny fan, but I'm sorry... challenging for a Jr Middleweight championship at 150lbs is wrong. Nobody should recognize that as a win in another weight division.

I am actually impressed by Dzinziruk. He has a piston like jab. He reminds me of Kessler.

this fight is annoying because of the belt. it should have been at 147 for pac's title.

Or Pac should have agreed to put his Welter title on the line in an "over the limit" title defense.... It's a catchweight fight, why not put both weight division championships on the line...

I remember when SRL made Donny Lolande put his Light Heavyweight title on the line in a 167lbs fight. The Super Middleweight title was also on the line. Leonard won, winning both division championships in one night...

It was at the SMW limit of 168 pounds. Absolutely ridiculous though and that was really the start of modern day title negotiation BS and star power negotiation for titles. It had always gone on but nothing like today. Ray Robinson was notorious to deal with, but Leonard really brought in the star power and contemporary advantages for himself, the lesser fighter having to give in to everything for the big fight. Sucks really.

LaLonde had always struggled with the weight even at LHW. They knew this and the rest is history. He became weak by the sixth round and tired. After hurting Leonard early, he was just too tired and his punches too weak to do anything. Great fight though. Now, Mayweather and Pacquiao are both the worst possible drama queens when it comes to negotiating and getting all the petty little advantages possible from weight, to money, ring size, gloves etc etc.

criticisms for catchweights are completely illegitimate & a moot point because of the 24 hr rehydration rule.

sure, manny shouldnt get full credit & should be criticized for the catchweight & pac fans shouldnt brag about the 8th division title, but the 150 catchweight wont affect the outcome of this fight.
