Sorry to say Larry but this thread just sounds like one of those "Yeah he did it to that guy, but he won't do it to this guy!" thread. And we all know how these kind of fights end up.

I know because I did it too. "DLH was weight drained, but Hatton won't be, Hatton is undefeated at 140, he can't lose to little Pac, he'll bully him!" etc. Yeah, you know what happened there. Pacquiao proved me wrong. But in this case, I see the weight advantage going to Pacquiao. I think Margarito is too old[er][I know he's only in his early 30s but I mean to old to be going down in weight] and too big to be fighting anywhere that is not 154+. We saw what happened to Roy when he decided to go down in weight[not exactly just 3 pounds like Margarito but 25lbs but still]. We saw how different DLH looked against Forbes at 150 than he did against Mayweather at 154 and then looked even worse at 147 against Pacquiao. The weight will be an issue here. If Margarito can make this fight remotely close or challenging, then he deserves his props for battling the weight. And yes, 3-4lbs less than his last fight is a lot. 1lb can make a difference, boxing is that serious.

And on the flip side Tony has already been in tenacious battles where it still remains to be seen if his bearings are still intact.

Though he beat Cotto (cheating or not) I think he left something in the ring that night and the Mosley defeat was a hard fall from grace combined with a scandal that has given his career an *.

So who’s to say Margarito isn’t war torn giving Manny the golden opportunity to capitalize on it???

I don't think Hatton really quit, even after that first round he was swinging like a madman.

It's not like he was in survival mode, which is why he got brutally KO'd

Fact is there is no proof that Marg cheated against Cotto. There might be speculation. But, that is not proof. And, that is a fact.

Fact is Cotto got beat by Margarito.

And, my opinion by how you responded this thread is that you still bitter about it and haven't moved on from that Cotto lost.

And, is about time to let it go. Is over 2 years already, move on.

All we can hope now is for a rematch. However, maybe for you that wouldn't be the best thing.
Of course your mexican, its pretty much common knowledge on this website that your mexican. Except for the fact of course, your not mexican. Lol.

You make a good point OP.

Tony needs a good ref in the ring and a sturdy chief second and doctor to keep him safe

                      he'd die fighting

against pacquiao i dont think it will be any different
he's gonna take his best punches in victory or defeat
                      most likely defeat

Robert Garcia stopping this one in the corner after nine or ten rounds is the safest bet in my eyes

I dont speak a ton of spanish but i've noticed tony slurring a tad of late
anybody who knows what i'm talking about (say if its me not noticing an accent) who wants to make me the wiser i'd appreciate

i've said it before and i'll say it again
Margo's chin against cotto is the most spectacular thing i've ever seen in boxing
experts at ringside were calling it the best they'd seen

you cannot display that sort of chin forever
