It's whiteboy against darknight man. Ward is supposed to be the next Mayweather or something, Bute is not even American. There you have it in a nutshell....wish it were different but this is America...race means something here. Even if he were American, Ward would still be better than Bute, perception-wise. HBO or Showtime would not hype a white guy up as a star....a star athlete. Good athletes are stereotypically African American or Latino, whites don't fit the "mold".

lol, good one, I am actually pretty good at basketball. I ran track and coaches were always asking me to wrestle. It's pretty easy to see though, how many white boxing "stars" do you know of? In America...none. In other countries, Canada for example, the y have Bute and Lemuiex (however you spell it). Most European countries have nearly 100% white sports stars. Race and the ability to sell race as a commodity is big here in America. Marketing strategies are at play all the time with every single sporting event here in America.."White Men Can't Jump"

As of today i think it's too difficult to tell who the better fighter is. I slightly favour Ward....but i think Bute is a very very dangerous fighter for anyone to be facing.

Also sitting out the Super Six (whether intentional or not) has proved to be a good move by Bute. He only has to fight the winner to be considered the top dog at 168. In the interim he can continue to take lucrative bouts in Canada while he waits. Also the Super Six has turned into a farce IMO.

Depends entirely on the sport. How many top afro american athletes do you see in a swimming pool?? What about a tennis court?? Gymnastics??

Again it depends entirely on the sport. I doubt you will see a white man ever go sub 10 in a 100m sprint. The genetics just aren't there. Blacks of West African origin have lower body fat (genetically) and other physical traits that make them "potentially" better at certain sports.

then again i don't think you will ever see a black athlete do what Michael Phelps did in Beijing.
