Cotto is the 3rd largest draw after PAC and Floyd

    70-30 is what both deserve.

I don't see why arum wouldn't make this fight because I see it as a easy win

If the fight does happen, Cotto will definitely win it.

Everybody responding with 70/30 and 65/35 are blind idiots.

          Here is the issue.

There simply isn't enough money to make the fight.

Berto may take 35%. That's possible. But what is HBO gonna put up? 3.5 mill? That would make Berto's pay day $1.25 million, roughly. He made more against Quintana.

You can bet your ass that he's gonna want more money against Cotto than he made against Quintana.

Unless HBO REALLY wants the fight and puts up $4 million for it, I don't see the fight happening.

Fun Fact: Only WCB HBO put up $4 million for(to my knowledge)--Hopkins vs. Calzaghe.

It may have to go to ppv.

              70-30 sounds fair, Berto's not a draw....at all.

Arum is absolutely right, until HBO mans up and tells Berto flat out they are done with his BS, this fight is impossible to make.

Berto sold 800 tix for Quintana, mind you that fight was for Haiti and it was announced Soulja Boy would be doing his entrance song. 800 tix? I've seen local fighters and promoters do 2000 in upstate NY.

800 is a joke and you could see it on Berto's face when he walked out he was disappointed. Matter of fact, I bet more tickets were sold when he fought Cosme Rivera.

Which tells us, this guy hasn't grown in popularity not one bit since HBO first started over-paying him.

Berto can keep fighting no one. When he does finally steps up, his skillset will be stagnant and he'll lose. Take the smaller cut a couple times and earn your place.

Berto deserve more than 25% and its all HBO's fault. I dont blame Berto or lou, 25% to fight Mayweather or Pacquiao would probably be more than twice what Berto normally earns but 25% (If true) to fight Cotto wouldnt be more than Berto currently earn fighting low level opponents.
