Sugar Ray Leonard in 2004 said: "I watch Ricky Hatton all the time, he can do what he wants because he's just raw talent. I love watching Ricky. I watch him and I think that it's almost perpetual motion."
Emanuel Steward in 2000 said: "Out of all the fighters in world boxing today, none of them are more talented than Ricky Hatton. He's a future all-time great."
Yeah and they are not known to exagerate things huh?
Emanuel Steward : "I have a guy who will be better than chavez"
I think the guy lost and no ones heard from him since.
the thing is that the second three were willing to fight and the first three are not as of right now willing to do it
Well, two of the three (Cotto/Hatton) are just beginning to make names for themself, and even if Mayweather moves up in weight, both these guys will follow.
HAtton is a rough and tough club fighter, his chin is absolutely rock solid but when I watched him fight Zoo at a distance it looked like "A" fighter vs. "C" fighter, Hatton couldnt fight anyone on the outside and be effective, he has to get that chin of his tucked into his opponents chest and then he can work, then and only then.
Floyd is the most talented fighter I have ever watched fight, if they fought at a distance it would be one embarrassing night. Ricky has an amzaing motor, the best in the sport but I dont necessarily equate that with talent rather heart, Floyd oozes talent and I will meet you have way Juuj, HAtton has 1/500th of the talent that Floyd has. RIcky may win the fight but it wont be on talent it will be because Floyd has 1/1000th of the heart that the hitman has.
I think Hatton is special, his motor and style are what make him great, maybe you dont realize how special Floyd MAyweather is yet...before it is all said and done there wont be any questions, not from me and certainly not from you brits...Floyd is as unique a talent as the sport has ever seen, give it time and there will be no one who disagrees.
**** Im not even a Floyd guy, I would root my ass off for Ricky from the comfort of my beautful home in Seattle Washington-dont get so damn offended when someone cums on a british fighter-I never intended to hit Ricky in the eye.
I watched Ricky Hatton live in the flesh at the 97 ABA's and I haven't seen anything like that potential before or since, all of his movements seemed to come naturally and his balance was amazing, he would make moves without even thinking about it and he'd remain at his sharpest until the final bell. I knew that he was a special one, it wasn't difficult to work out. Then he went to the world championships at 18 years old and beat a Cuban in the final, he turned pro a week after that.

I know where your coming from I watched Floyd Sr. in an alley fight back in 86 and I turned to my friend and said if he this mother****er has a son the rest of the world better look out.
Hatton vs. Floyd...there will be tons more talk but there will never be an actual fight-here to me being wrong!

Floy is definitely going to move up and i think Cotto is goinh to stay to unify, and hatton will also move up cotto has a chance moving up due to his skills but hatton has the power to move up
I've seen probably about 6-7 fights of Hatton's, and I honestly don't think he can beat Floyd. (I don't remember the opponents of Hatton, but they were from Elvieil's lounge) Floyd is too fast, and quickfooted to lose to Hatton.
