This isn't something I like to hear. Unless this is the norm for him.

That might be dangerous as hell. He shouldnt waited this late. His stamina is shyt as it is.It's not common knowledge, this is a boxing forum and most posters probably think fighters walk around at their rehydration weight.
He's 19 pounds over the limit and through road work and 3 hours of training a day for 6 days a week, Sergio gets rid of those pounds easily. In that schedule, boxers lose 3,4,5,6+ pounds after workout (of course they gain most of it back after eating), so the fact is they lose it easy. Martinez could healthily lose that in a month.Comment

Look at it this way, halfway through camp, he is 20 pounds over. It's not common knowledge, this is a boxing forum and most posters probably think fighters walk around at their rehydration weight.

Sure he will lose the weight, but how will it affect him physically is the question and it cant be goodComment

Come on man, that's not good. 20 pounds is a lot to lose safely in a month. It's not common knowledge, this is a boxing forum and most posters probably think fighters walk around at their rehydration weight.

And it really does him no good to spend the bulk of his time losing the bulk instead of working on tactics.Comment

True, but most of them try to get down to the least weight possible, so they are huge for their weight class. I'd take a guess that Pirog, Jacobs, and Golovkin walk around at least at 180. Jacobs is more than likely near 195 right now, if he isn't in the gym.Comment

so pac asking cotto to come down 1pound from cotto normal official weigh-in of 146 down to 145...and now asking margarito to stay 3lbs below the max 154...isnt as ridiculous as most people think...considering martinez have to lose 20 pounds to fight williams...thats just as a circus fight as the pac/delahoya...*** IT...i'll just say it now, for those who said delahoya was weight drained...i'll play that same gane and say that martinez will be weight drained too, HAHAHA...These threads reveal who's in the gym and who's not, who knows professional boxers and who doesn't (no offense to those that don't) because most of your favorite boxers and prospects are dropping 20-30+ pounds in every training camp.
Except for Mayweather, Pacquiao, Williams, Margaito, Caballero, and a few others, all of your favorite boxers cut that amount of weight in training camp.
Martinez easily takes off the 19 pounds he needs to and knock Paul's head into the 3rd row.Comment

You nailed it right there.
Williams will be sparring lefties like Q and Collazo and Martinez will be eating kangaroo meat and running.
Like I said his stamina is already bad. This aint a good look for him ESPECIALLY vs a guy with the kind of conditioning Paul has.Comment

I don't know where you're getting this from, he closed out the championship rounds on my card in the first fight.
For that matter, he put in on Pavlik in the later rounds too. Cintron also.
His stamina seems fine to me.Comment

Its overplayed by those who think Williams won the fightComment
