Nobody said Cotto/Marg would be drained, it was more of Pac winning 'historic' champs at catchweights. And I hope you really were joking cuz Maravilla fought at 160 7 months ago, not 5 years like DLH and 147.

EVERYONE on this forum basically said Martinez is a 154 Pounder. Just sounds like laziness to me from Martinez. Taking Paul lightly.
What other reason is there? Williams had a reason for the catchweight

He waited too late to try and pull this off.
he'll lose 10lbs easily in the first week of training. the other 20 will fall off by fight night. p will is the one whose shocking. ppl look at martinez and are shocked but its really not that bad. he's where he should be. the bigger u are, the easier it is to lose weight.

It depends because at some point, your body can't safely take off more weight and perform the same. Even Malignaggi shook Cotto up at 140, with those 7 extra pounds he barely ever got shook up the way Corley and Torres did. If Williams, Margarito, Caballero and those huge fighters ever let themselves blow up too far over weight and try to lose it in training camp, they'll look like ****.

sergio might overtrain himself in those 30 days, he's gonna gas late in the fight.

So why do you think Williams' people demanded a catchweight when it is obvious that Paul is still very fit at 160? I mean they are fighting for the middleweight title. It's no mystery why Pacquaio wants a catchweight. So why did Williams?

smh...u guys are silly. im guessing uve never seen a boxer in the upper weights train before???he'll come into the fight looking good and feeling good as well. im no gonna speak on the catchweight because i dont necessarily agree with it, but serg. wont be drained. im sure this isnt out of the ordinary for him.

His words not mine. Being this fat wont help him.

Personally I think Martinez may be smelling himself. Letting the hype get to his kid. Paul is hungry.
I saw a clip of him from Elie earlier today (he was in my hood and I didn't even know it) and he doesn't look fat.

It won't really effect him at all. Unless he let himself go too far after the Pavlik fight (which is possible), he's done this before.

I'm telling you man, a 5 mile run will knock off 3-5 pounds, then you lose around 3 pounds in a normal 3 hour session at the gym. They just melt away. He doesn't even have to go on a strict diet.
You're telling me that if I run 5 miles a day I'll lose 50 pounds in one month?

Martinez has a lot of weight to lose. I don't know if this is typical for him or not, but that's not too good.
