Pacquiao will not be an 8 division champ, even if he wins this fight..

of course, its a wbc belt....your comparison is crap.....like natas said, leonard won 2 titles at catchweight fight, was that better?...

Seriously guys I know the PFP rankings are not official but you would atleast think they would count for something. I never thought that I would see the day that fans would complain because the highest ranked fighter in the world doesn't have to enter a new division and start with b- fighters so he can move up the rankings.
Floyd won it fair and square because he beat the current champ at the time, which was De La Hoya.

If it was a vacant title and he fought for it against a tomato can, then you can criticize him.

Actually, my comparison is really good. Titles themselves don't have any meaning at all. WBC, WBA, IBF, whatever. The only thing that matters about a title is who you beat to get it. Pac and Margarito have no business fighting for a title in that division, but they could at least fight a current title holder to get one.

        Catchweights also suck.

Bums arn't 3 time welterweights champs! Bums don't win Ring title belts! Seriously guy did you just start watching boxing yesterday? Champion Boxers who move up in weight get ranked almost all the time even if they hadn't ever fought in their division. It's called a body of work my friend. **** Sergio Martinez lost a bout with paul Williams at middleweightand then got a title shot against Kelly Pavlik so why are you up in arms about that???

actually there are even rules to this. A good example if you go back and recall when Joan Guzman was a champ at 130 then moved up to 135 he became Nate Campbell's #1 challenger without even fighting in the division.

Of course, the difference here obviously is margarito isn't a champ either, but to prove the point that pacquiao at least could be legitimately ranked...

De la Hoya was not the current champ he was a titlist which is the same thing pac will be if he wins. And what exactly the diffrence you act like there are a bunch of more qualified fighters in the top 10 wankings of the WBC well lest see who? Mosely is #5 but then again we would have every ***** talking about how Pac only fights guys coming off a loss. Canelo is #2 yeah he's still a prospect. Angulo? That would be nice but hes no better than Margarito and hes smaller than Margarito. Oh I know Ryan roads whos ranked 4th yeah untested brit LOL!!

              Laughable!

Unclaimed 154lb belt at a catch-weight...gimme a break. Floyd fought the De La Hoya, whom was a legitimate 154pounder defending the title at the limit.

Pacman is just cheating history, eight titles my left nut.

let them fight for a belt against a belt holder then. thing is the legit contenders that actually fight at that weight are being cheated out of an opportunity to fight for that belt.

Margarito was exposed as a tomato can against Mosley. Or did taking a vicious beating from an over the hill fighter prove he was championship material?

Martinez wasn't ranked by the WBC when he fought Pavlik. It was an optional defense for Pavlik so he could've fought whoever he wanted and he chose Martinez.

You do realize the reigning champion is allowed to fight someone outside of their division, right?

De La Hoya wasn't the champ.. even though he beat the reigning champ before him? And that champ beat the champ before him, and so on? Well, then, your idea of a world champion is messed up.

Pac shouldn't be fighting for it, because it's a VACANT title. In order to fight for a vacant title, it has to be between the #1 and #2 contenders. Pac isn't anyone of those and Margarito shouldn't be. Unless beating Roberto Garcia was some amazing accomplishment?
