There's nothing he teaches his fighters that is inherently better than other trainers. He's a great trainer because he matches his fighters well and short of that he prepares a good gameplan for the opponent at hand. Also he seems to have good chemistry with fighters which is important because it helps him pass on the knowledge. If the chemistry isn't there it prob weon't matter if you are the best ever.....the fighter isn't going to learn.

EVERYONE knows pacquaio has to overwhelm tony, get in and out etc. any 2 dollar coach could tell you that. does freddy get praised for a pac victory over margs? sure he'll get it..but does he really deserve it and should it boost his legacy? i'm not so sure..
any hardcore boxing fan can figure out what the game plan vs margs should be, but none of us helped manny get to the point where he has those tactics and skills at his disposal.
if he had not developed a right hook or learned how to use angles to punch and turn he'd still be the same fighter we saw at the lower weights, a 1 handed straight line fighter with speed and power. roach taught manny how to box and how to use his physical gifts tactically.

i dunno what wins roach should be given credit for. i just give him credit for polishing manny's skills.

Pac & Roach have a great chemistry, both should be credited for what they've done together

            spot on

roach taught him how to utilize those raw potentials

credit to manny for using them to his extent

Becuz he trains a lot of successful fighters... I mean, I won't comment on how most of them were already successful when he trained them, but still.

It did take him 8 years to give Pac a decent right hand... but today it's a great right hand... (Even though it only took Floyd Sr 1 training camp to turn Hatton into a boxer)... Whatever.

I'm sure most people think he's great cuz he's Pacquiao's trainer...

I think a lot of his success is based on him having a gym in an area with a lot of potential talent.

If his gym was in Iowa, I doubt we'd ever know who he was.

If he is not then there isn't anyone out there now who is great. He has trained some big names in his time and appears to develope and work out a game plan for every opponent. His gym has really good sparring and he brings in good sparring aswell and being able to help pick out a figjter to fight.

Toney, hill, tyson, khan, pac, oscar, hopkins have all worked with him.

People hire him because they know he is good.

If you think oh he only has pacquiao who he made a lot better, then that applies to all trainers, mayweahers, nacho etc...
