Been watching boxing for 20+ years, Larry hasn't really grown on me, he adds something to the event, just can be annoying. If he wouldn't pause so damn much and turn a 3 minute comment into ten, I probably would enjoy it more

yea, ive been watching hbo boxing since i was about a pre teen. im 25 now. ppl change. ive never found a sports commentator as annoying as larry was last saturday. if that means im a noob, then so be it. theres a thin line between being a critic and being a hack.

and the thing is ive never liked haye and im a vlad fan, but that **** was pretty annoying.

merchant ****rides any action fighter. its the boxing types that he doesnt like...think thats why ive never really appreciated his commentary when it comes to those type of fighters.

Agreed Larry Merchant is the man!!!! People don't like him because he is the only commentator that has the balls enough to not be a cheerleaer for the network and speaks his mind. He says things that need to be said that a lot of people dont wanna hear.

He asks fighters the tough questions no one else will, and calls them out when they need to be.

i like the guys at sky sports. they call the ****ing fight. I watched the klit haye fight over and all the hbo team did was criticize haye the whole fight. larry old ass needs to retire. Watch boxing from your ****ing couch or something. theres a reason as to why fights are supposedly boring. Casual fans would understand this. he never says anything about the action in the ring. he comes in every now and then and tells some joke and ****. He is to old. I was once a fan but his bitter attitude is disgusting.
