I don't see the big deal or issue here. All I sense is this "Ricans this, Ricans that" prejudice that always makes me sick whenever I come across it in forums. First of all, it's not about being from Puerto Rico, USA, Mexico, Philippines, or China, for that matter. Regardless of nationality, you will get good posters with common sense and you will also get trolls. Race has nothing to do with it.

Now, let's go to the subject. I think Vazquez is just going step by step. He's still learning and knows he is not the best yet, but has a chance. A fight with Arce would make good money, would serve as a learning experience, and would prevent him from getting stripped of the title, considering Arce is the mandatory. All in all, Vazquez could take this fight and it would not be that big of a deal, as long as he keeps progressing and aiming to be the best in the future.

Funny stuff people critizicing rican fighters for fighting little guys when we have more triple champions than any country not named US and like 70% of our champions have gone up in weight to fight.

Most def. In my humble opinion Arce is the way to go but Montiel is a too much for him to chew.

totally agree Wilfredo Vazquez has a bright future but by calling out Montiel i honestly dont think.hes ready Vazquez needs to get managed right if they try to put him in there right now with the.big names he'll remind me of a young Fernando Vargas bright future gone to waste because they managed him wrong and threw him in the ring so not ready.for Tito Trinidad . I say test him with Arce and if he does great maybe he'll be ready for Montiel

Eh, even though Montiel started off as a flyweight he would still be the best opponent WV2 has faced thus far. And, iMO is good enough to possibly beat WV2.

But, at the same time WV2 would be way and I mean way bigger than Montiel. If WV2 wanted to call out a bantamweight then he should of really called out Moreno who would be closer in size.

But, at the same time Moreno is just too dangerous for WV2. Moreno would be too much for him.
