Does anyone really give Mayorga a chance?

the fact of the matter is that in his last showing Mayorga never really demonstrated the power which he had become notorious for. Unless Tito Trinidad has eroded so tremendously that he can no longer beat an untrained undisciplined fighter like Mayorga, I think that this fight is a TKO for Trinidad.

There's all ready a bunch of threads on this topic - and yes, a lot of us are picking Mayorga.

it is hard to tell this year there have been so many upsets
My head says tito but i am apprehensive because my favourite fighter got KOed big style, so did tyson, by clear underdogs.

I think Tyson would have won that fight if he hadn't gotten hurt, RJJ on the other hand, I have no explanation for, other than fighting someone who wasn't intimidated by him for the second time now. I think Tito will pull it off, he can box or punch, and Mayorga fights only one way, the hard way.

            with tito chin..mayorga power..how can u not????

remember sometimes the best way to beat a boxer..is not to box him...and mayorga will never throw a straigh or jab..its all hooks and power shots from this guy

the actual cold hard truth is that mayorga really only demonstrated his "devestating" power once against top guys
              and that was against forrest
he hasnt show super power since that fight
i see his style as more of a threat then his supposed power
aside from that he didnt look at all impressive in his last fight

              i give mayorga a chance
but not so much to his credit
more of doubt that trinidad can come back as his old self
but even then i think a tito who is not his 100% old self can beat mayo
i really see this as a mismatch
if this fight took place at mayos weight class he'd have more of a chance
but hes just gonna be too small for tito

Of course Mayorga has a chance.
He's a big hitter who is very hard to train for....
He fires shots from all over the place, & a rusty Tito may get caught.

But, Tito is the superior fighter.
He SHOULD be able to whether some early round chaos....settle in, & start landing those excellent, devastating shots of his....
I expect Tito to bust Mayorga up en route to an 8th rd TKO.

                But...like I said....Mayorga absolutely is a threat !

I won't be upset if Mayorga wins. I like the guy outside the ring so much that I would have him really high on my list if he had any skill whatsoever. Trinidad should easily destroy him, but who knows? I'm betting any money I get by Friday all on Mayorga to win by KO.

Trinidad is too damn one-d of a fighter. I don't like him as much as I used to. And I hate his father, can't stand that idiot. Tito gives his dad way too much control. His dad actually had the audacity to tell him he was winning the Hopkins fight.

And it was just lame for Tito to do his fake retirement, which nobody ever believed would stick very long. He would've been back sooner had every reporter in the world not laughed and kept saying "No seriously, when are you coming back?" from the day he announced retirement.

He retired cuz Nard didn't give him a rematch.
