I have no doubt Sven "you are not allowed to hit me" Ottke and Naseem "I lost when I stepped up but I was clearly past my prime in my 20s without having taken any punishment" Hamed will make it in the HOF, it's sad that they will get in before others more deserving. Also quite sad that this writer agrees.

No chance Sven Ottke get's in. He's widely ridiculed by most boxing writers. Don't pay no attention to Lyle Fitszimmons ballot, he opinion's carries little weight.

Ottke had a good career in his own right. However his name should not be mention in the same sentence as the HOF.

Having wins gift wrapped and defended some paper belt against weak competition does not make you a Hall of Famer.

Plenty guys has made the HOF less deserving than Ottke, who happens to have a solid resumé. I guess the majority of posters in this thread just hates as a knee-jerk reaction. I doubt many has actually seen him fight. I have. Being bored countless saturdays.... I could almost always see Ottke winning although there was little doubt the decisions where close.



In regards to the ballot this seem to be a strong class and I pretty much agree with the writer. Why no love for Gushiken though?

Hopefully these ballots come under heavy scrutiny and he's re-evaluated for picking sven ottke for the goddamn hall of fame

that guy will legit get boo'd if not at the ceremonies then during the parade

the guy fought nobodies almost exclusively and only had six knockouts in 34 fights
never left germany and had still had plenty of close calls

the guy must make his picks via the boxrec and not the film session


ottke has no L's on his record and boxed well over 300 rounds

he's got a nice resume certainly and has nothing to be ashamed of

but i wouldnt like to see him in that parade
