Exactly our thought, pal! You a mind-reacher? LOL!!! We were guests at a resort owned by an American ex-pat in San Fabian called Lazy A. Boy! Didn't we turn green! Lovely place!

But we're looking at putting down stakes either in Pagudpod or Cebu. Cebu would be neat. They have lotsa boxing there, so I gathered!

good choice...i think cebu is better than manila...lotsa good beaches nearby, less traffic and pollution and far from the typhoon path.

          THNKS LOTS!

You're as right as can be, pal! All the Filipinos we've met over the years are arguments in favor of our plan. And I'm sure you're one of them...so, I'm equally sure, is THRILLA...and the others I've come to meet on this site!

We're looking at Pagudpod and Cebu. But we're leaning towards Cebu, what with all that boxing that's been reportedly going on in there!

We're praying earnestly that we'd be able to make the move. But I still have a wee short of a decade to go before retirement. So has my wife.

          But we're raring'!

You got it, bud. Cost of living is less as well, though the standard is high. Our meager retirement dollars can go a long way there.

And all the basic services and amenities are in place: world-class hospitals, hotels, resorts...That's Cebu. Pagudpod has a rustic lure, though. Pretty charming town! Equally charming is Bohol!

Oh well, just too many choices! I'm sure the missus and I will be able to make our minds up quickly when the time comes! That would be the easiest part! A choice between one part of paradise over another...! We'll have our cake and be eating it too!

i hope i can do the same...i was asking my financial advisor if i can retire at 50...she said it was tough..but possible...i don't know if it's the wisest thing to do...but i'm getting bored here in the u.s...so i'm looking at going back to the philippines as early as possible. i hope i would be able to do it soon...i've already purchased a 10-hectare beach front property in quezon...it was nice but it was along the typhoon belt...planning to put up a resort for my retirement...want to farm when i retire.

Well that's good for you ! Good decision-making I should say. I hope I can say the same about our other kababayans who work in the US and spend their money here like there was no tomorrow.
