Lacy has already faced better opposition???...

You see this is the problem with people that just jump on a band wagon and don't really know anything about the fighter in hand... i.e. Joe Calzaghe and the "Haters".

They hear people say that Calzaghe has only ever fought "bums" and they believe it. But they're just joining in without knowing the facts.

Jeff Lacy has NOT fought better opposition than Joe Calzaghe.

I would think that Jeff Lacy's most significant win to date is a 12 round points victory over Omar Sheika.

Well Joe Calzaghe beat Omar Sheika 4-5yrs previous (when Sheika wasn't so washed up) by TKO 5.

What if Calzaghe loses next month? Then where are we? It's possible, right? He could lose. I hope it doesn't happen, though.

Let's suppose it does for a minute. Will Lacy get the credit he deserves if he were to unify without beating Calzaghe for a belt?

If Lacy can get inside on Joe as he did with Reid, he has a very good shot at winning. No doubt that Joe is a good fighter, but will his age catch up with him when he fights Lacy, if he does? I've seen several of his fights, but will he have the desire to keep winning? Will the fire inside him be equal to Lacy's? We all know how badly Lacy wants the win against Joe, but will Joe want it as much as Lacy does? Can he deal with Lacy's power on the inside? Can Lacy deal with his southpaw stance, etc?

This should be a good fight.

^Calzaghe is definitely as big as Lacy. JC is pretty huge for a super-middle.

Sheika is 27 years old and is fighting beyer for teh wbc title soon, he's hardly washed up. nice way to take the most favorable comparison for calzaghe. how bout tough sd for joe over reid, but lacy tko'd reid in 7 and knocked him down 4 times? guess that ruins your comparison a little bit

Lacy by mid round stoppage after an interesting fight.

The fight is going to be one-sided. Lacy . Joe is just going to stand up right in front of him and throw punches with just his shoulders its like he's slapping them. Sure his straight left is good but if he fights like he does normally, he is going to get KTFO. Wouldn't be so surprised if Lacy breaks one of Calzaghe's ribs.
