Lamont is more polished and has ability in both hands where as Anthony is a one trick pony with his left hand.

The problem with them is that they don't fight to their strengths. Both stand in the box and try to trade with guys who are heavier handed. They are skilled and fast enough to easily outbox most of their opposition if they would just fight to their strengths. As much as I am not a fan of Roger or Floyd Mayweather Sr.....either of those 2 could train Lamont to a world title and maybe even Anthony.
No bull at all. With Peterson vs Bradley, experience played a part just because Bradley had been in with more proven fighters. In the case of Peterson-Rios, it was a close fight up until the DQ, had Peterson used those skills you mentioned, cruise to a UD.

It's hard to imagine Maidana declining a rematch with somebody he didn't just beat physically, but mentally as well. Especially since Ortiz brings more acclaim to the event than Maidana does.

is it hard to imagine that he didn't want to lose his #1 contender spot to face Khan (the 140 cash king) and make more money then he would if he fights and loses to Ortiz.

Lamont is much more sound technically than Anthony is. He slips more punches and rolls under shots while standing in the pocket. He also knows how to pivot which is something his younger brother hasn't developed. If you've noticed, in the bouts that go the distance with Anthony, he tends to eat up a lot of the ring while controlling the momentum.

I agree with you though, against Rios, Peterson chose the wrong fight, just stand and ****, try to match hooks. I also agree that both brothers have fought over-the-hill competition but there styles differ from each other.

Should be a good match up, don't nearly see it being one sided for either/or.

Not hard to imagine at all. Though Maidana was suppose to have had his shot months ago. If anything, Maidana-Khan should've happened when Khan-Malignaggi did or at the latest when Maidana-Corley took place. It's all politics though. In all honesty, I don't think GBP wants to put Ortiz in there with Maidana.

Victor Ortiz is definitely a protected fighter. I would not be surprised if Golden Boy Promotions cancels Ortiz's fight against Lamont Peterson.

nah, maidana turned down a rematch at least twice.
ortiz wants the rematch, maidana didnt.

if ortiz boxes instead of trying to slug it out, he wins pretty easily.
he knows the mistake that he made and he wouldnt do it again in a rematch.
