American fans won't pay for Calzaghe. They probably won't pay for Lacy at this point, either, but more Americans at least could pick him out of a crowd... -
thanks for answering q's man

yeah i doubt peoplw will pay to see Lacy at this point especially after Saturdays fight. So a fight vs Calazghe that most people dont know will not generate much money...plus it supper-middle wight..nto a weight class that gets a lot of publicity.Comment

i see these young pro's lacy and taylor getting better every fight and learning from their mistakes.both showed inexperience throwing anxious glancing blows that will be resolved with more training and confidence.Originally posted by AnorakRobin Reid and Joe Calzaghe were both quoted in the tabloids (reliable, huh?) today as saying they believed Joe would beat Lacy in their November bout.
My dinner's ready so it's a quickee, but Reid - who has fought both - believed Joe's faster handspeed and superior boxing technique would win out. Reid lost a split decision to Joe, was destroyed by Lacy, but was in his prime for the Calzaghe bout.
Calzaghe meanwhile, said that Lacy was a "good boxer, but if I couldn't beat him then I should be retired." He also predicted that with his angles, boxing intuition and handspeed he would "give [Lacy] nightmares."
boy, taylor leaving his left down all the time is worrisome to me.he better fix that problem before his rematch.if it wasnt for that horrendous headbutt that slowed down and added confusion i thought taylor would have won more convincingly.cant wait to see the rematch which will hopefully prove my points.
with calzaghe past his prime and having a hard time with reid(in his prime)i see a less anxious lacy walking threw anything cal throws.calzaghe could make it close point wise with his ringmanship but i feel lacys youth and strength will make the the points per round gappingly in his favor if he dont tko cal.
hey i want to thank you anorak for explaining in one of your replies where you point out that britain means ireland, wales, and scotland, etc. i thought that england and britain and all of those places were one of the same.sort of like florida and california and newyork are the same united states and not like u.s and canada are the same.thanksComment

It doesn't mean Ireland it means Northern Ireland. My great grandfather was from Northern Ireland and I have to say Northern Ireland's flag is horrendous. I guess that William the Orange must have been a ***. Or maybe something else, I have often deeply pondered why this flag is meant to represent Northern Ireland. I dont know exactly that William the Oranage was a ***, but someting deeper symbolically than that. This flag is a disgrace, and strange.Originally posted by steelheadhey i want to thank you anorak for explaining in one of your replies where you point out that britain means ireland, wales, and scotland, etc. i thought that england and britain and all of those places were one of the same.sort of like florida and california and newyork are the same united states and not like u.s and canada are the same.thanks

Its called the United Kingdom of Great Britian (meaning of all of the Island of Britain which includes Wales and Scotland in addition to England). Northern Ireland is on the island of of Ireland hence not part of Great Britain of course but part of the UK.Originally posted by steelhead?
It also includes other places like the Falkland Islands, the Isle of Mann and a million other places, Jersey Island.Last edited by The Troll; 08-09-2005, 04:21 AM.Comment
