I think it has a shot. I bet you next time the Ring ratings come out Calzaghe and Lacy will magically be listed as the #1 and #2 contenders and Showtime or whoever picks up the fight will hype it as a world championship bout.Originally posted by Tito Fan 83Anyone think this fight will be PPV? I wouldn't think so, but then again people on this very site are planning on paying for Rahman-Barret and Briggs-Mercer, so who knows?
Calzaghe's been #1 forever but Lacy's been moving up the list fast ever since talk of a match between them started up. Ring wants to fill its vacant titles so it will push contenders up the list if it means that they will have a title fight.Comment

I'm not dis*****g that Para, alot do think he lost but alot also think cal won, i very much doubt that many would call it a dominant win one way or another for either fighter, have you watched the fight yourself yet.Originally posted by ParodiusMany British fans including on this board think that Reid won the fight. The funniest thing I've heard, is that some of you guys think that ****zaghe can beat Bitchkins.
I'm assuming by your hilarious alternate names you use for fighters your referring to Hopkins, obviously some people rate hopkins and some don't and why do you insist on bunching all the brits together, slightly ignorant don't you thinkComment

Do you mean the majority of boxing fans or just people in generalOriginally posted by ParodiusMost diehard boxing fans will know who ****zaghe is, but the majority of the people never heard of ****zaghe.Comment

Originally posted by AnorakRobin Reid and Joe Calzaghe were both quoted in the tabloids (reliable, huh?) today as saying they believed Joe would beat Lacy in their November bout.
My dinner's ready so it's a quickee, but Reid - who has fought both - believed Joe's faster handspeed and superior boxing technique would win out. Reid lost a split decision to Joe, was destroyed by Lacy, but was in his prime for the Calzaghe bout.
Calzaghe meanwhile, said that Lacy was a "good boxer, but if I couldn't beat him then I should be retired." He also predicted that with his angles, boxing intuition and handspeed he would "give [Lacy] nightmares."
To make things understood here:
It's only been two days since the fight. Reid is still upset over the stoppage of the fight, so i don't trust his opinion here. He controversially lost to Calzaghe, while he was dominated by Lacy.
And as far as Calzaghe goes, all of his comments on Lacy are coming out just as expected.

He won't even fight in the U.S., I have only seen him fight once and He will never handle Lacys power and Lacy will be even more Hyped to hear him talk trash Lacy TKO 4-6 rounds and Lacy will give him a rematch if he will come over hear and do it just so he can say he did not hide and Wales or Europe his WHOLE career.Comment
