Robin Reid and Joe Calzaghe were both quoted in the tabloids (reliable, huh?) today as saying they believed Joe would beat Lacy in their November bout.

My dinner's ready so it's a quickee, but Reid - who has fought both - believed Joe's faster handspeed and superior boxing technique would win out. Reid lost a split decision to Joe, was destroyed by Lacy, but was in his prime for the Calzaghe bout.

Calzaghe meanwhile, said that Lacy was a "good boxer, but if I couldn't beat him then I should be retired." He also predicted that with his angles, boxing intuition and handspeed he would "give [Lacy] nightmares."

No it was close, all depends on what shots you like to see, reids bigger more infrequent rights or cals lighter/speedier more frequent combos - i'd class a gift dec like chavez got for his draw against whitaker.
