no way HBO pays 700k for that co-feature. I'd say 300k to 400k tops, if that.

Wrong Peterson... Thats his Bro Anthony who fights at 135... This is Lamont (140) who lost to Bradley and showed alot of heart in doing so after being down twice last December...

I'd love to see this fight, very evenly matched...

          1. Great Record
          2. Can't punch
          3. Coming off win(s)
          4. Not with a trainer that can devise a game plan to beat Ortiz
          5. Panics under the bright lights
          6. No promoter to deal with
          7. Inexperienced manager that will serve the fighter up for short money

Bottom line is that Peterson was the safest option out there! Peterson needs to re-evaluate his team before he starts the next stage of his career. He needs to learn how to use his strengths better as a pro fighter and quit playing to his opponents strengths.
Agree to an extent... However, Lamont Peterson is a pretty hard puncher and much longer/rangier than his Bro...

When has Lamont ever been KO'ed? He's a tough kid from DC with 1 loss on his record... He's not the brightest apple in the batch, but a good young prospect just like Ortiz (who I agree is slightly further advanced)... My only concern is the layoff going into a big fight like this. Maybe this fight should be made in March after Peterson and Ortiz both fight lesser opponents on the Dec. 11 card...

lamont has never been koed, but he has been droped by not so strong opponents. Oh and ortiz is no longer a prospect like lamont both are top contenders according to several governing bodies.

IMO, Ortiz is still a "Prospect" He still hasnt had title fights and still on undercards... Bradley and Khan and Alexander have recently shook their prospect status, not Ortiz... Maidana and Kotelnik aren't prospects anymore either, Ortiz still is...

A fight and impressive win over a guy like Peterson would put him one step closer and thats what he wants...

And I wouldn't call Bradley a soft puncher, just not a knockout guy, thats not his style... He trains and fights to go the distance and theres absolutely nothing worng with that, but he does indeed have a little pop to him...

I agree with you on Bradley,he has more pop then giving credit for cause he does not stop opponents..But Peterson is not a prospect he has fought for a tittle and has plenty of fights under his belt..He is green but not a prospect..Same with Ortiz he fought for an interim Championship that's a big deal..I will say Ortiz is closer to the prospect level then Peterson, which makes this a really good fight with big things on the horizon for the winner..I believe Peterson if in trouble or feeling he's behind will turn into a dog and dig to the body and try to will him self to a victory..We seen him do it in the Bradley fight(An Bradley is a far better boxer then Ortiz)he will do it to Ortiz as well,an we know Ortiz does not like that kind of fight..I favor ortiz in this fight but Peterson is very dangerous and a live dog IMO..

IMO i really do not see Lamont trying to make it into dog fight because ortiz IMO would ko him. i really dont see lamont trying to imitate his brother by slugging it out. Lamont would probably just keep boxing no matter what.

I see what ya saying but Bradley already showed that when Peterson's backs against the wall he goes balls to it..Maybe Ortiz's power will make him think twice about going all out,but I believe both Peterson Bro's are cut from the same cloth and respond to being attack the same way..I also think Lamont takes a better punch then his younger brother, and a better combo puncher tho he might not punch as hard..
