Dumb fight for Lamont Peterson. The Peterson group needs to understand that they are being used as an opponent on an HBO undercard. Golden Boy scanned the list of the top rated 140 lbers in the world and came across Lamont Peterson. His named popped out at them for a bunch of reasons

            1. Great Record
            2. Can't punch
            3. Coming off win(s)
            4. Not with a trainer that can devise a game plan to beat Ortiz
            5. Panics under the bright lights
            6. No promoter to deal with
            7. Inexperienced manager that will serve the fighter up for short money

Bottom line is that Peterson was the safest option out there! Peterson needs to re-evaluate his team before he starts the next stage of his career. He needs to learn how to use his strengths better as a pro fighter and quit playing to his opponents strengths.

I don't know if it's the safest fight out there but it sure as heck isn't an easy fight. I for one would be happy to see this happen.

If you were Peterson's adviser would you tell him to take this fight? If so, how much would the offer need to be?
