I know people bring up his fights with Whitaker and Taylor...

IMO he was slightly passed his prime against Taylor but still managed to destroy him...and if it was a 15 round like the champions back in the day (the difference between boys and men)
Chavez would have KNOCKED him out!

and was way past his prime losing to Whitaker, but a prime Whitaker would still probably have beet him cuz Whitaker is a all time great...

but what really impressed me about Chavez was his 11th round TKO against the hard hitting Edwin Rosario...he fought a great fight, breaking Rosario down for the later rounds and finishing him in the 11th...

He showed his great ring skills in that fight...he was unstoppable, except against Roberto Duran...LOL

Like Ultimate says, "Chavez was like a rock in that fight," and he was...

That is my opinion on the Mexican legend, Julio Cesar Chavez...

    Your thoughts?

I wouldn't class that as many, ive not seen the laporte fight, but have the other two, whitaker def a loss, and taylor i'm not so sure of cos i can understand why the ref stopped it but with 2 seconds left, it's a hard call, you can argue if your done your done but then chavez wouldn't have got another shot off.
what about randall 2 any thoughts on that, it looked a gift to me, i just think that randall had his number at that time

Camacho doesnt have the tools to whoop a Chavez, you could rephrase and say he would have ran more effectivley in his prime.

years all the leading record books, including both Pugilato and The Ring Record Book, recorded the first loss of Julio Cesar Chavez as being by disqualification....
This has since been changed to a knockout victory for Chavez, based on confirmation from the local boxing commission in Culiacan that it altered the verdict the following day.
Ramon Felix, manager of Chavez, happened to be a member of the Culiacan commission at the time."
