It may build a little character to have to fight the raccoons for some food.
You're a ****in idiot bro, find out the facts before you speak. He was out of the ring for so long due to him spending most of his time in court trying to regain a lot of the money that his former manager had cheated him out of. It's no wonder he is broke with sleazy cvnts like that ripping him off on property deals. The guy lost something like 15 million NZD. That's not squandering, that's being taken advantage of.

He actually lives about 2km away from me, in Auckland, NZ. I doubt that his Merc will be on the drive for long though if he owes that much, he'll have to put his TUA-MAN 1 licence plate on a pushbike!!

Option 2 : Fight #1 for $700k-$800k, then fight #2 for $700k-800k, then fight #3 (when you are in a position with slightly more leverage) fight K2 for 1.2mil, and at least clear the tax problem before hangin-em-up.

Do some of you kids even think before you type ?
That wasn't even the final Kltischko offer, for all we know it could have been much higher, judging by what Rahman got paid. Oh and Tua is NOT getting paid $700K for any of his next fights, what planet are you living on? His last TV deal was like $1.2 mil for 3 fights.

He should take the fight against Klitchsko...what if he won??! lucky KO or something...his next fight would be worth a small fortune win or lose...he could retire!!...even if he fights klit and loses (which he would be expected to) he could still pick up some good fights and chip away at this tax bill!!...come on sole take the fight!!!

while this is true and people do need to check it out and get informed, but it's too late for tua obviously, because he has in some way entered into contract with the IRS and whoever is trying to charge him with tax fines and such. sometimes just answering a question verbally enters you into contract, according to contract law, which is one of the three major law jurisdictions we live under by our consent, so since tua has done that he has invited them to take control over his strawman and now all this stuff is happening to him and is going to continue to happen, sad stuff.

there is remedies under the UCC and Contract Law, but I doubt he or his lawyers would look at that route.

$1.2 mil for 3 fights is still $400k per fight, to fight tomato cans, so it's hardly surprising that he felt insulted by an offer of only the same amount to fight and be knocked out by the best Heavyweight in the world, who would probably end his career. When the distance between what you think you should get and what you're being offered is that large, negotiations are pointless.

Plus, he is ranked the #2 contender by the WBO (ridiculous though that is), which means he only has to fight a couple more tomato cans and he'll be Wlad's mandatory, at which point he would be entitled to well over $1 million.

Pigs are far more likely to fly than that is to happen. And when Wlad knocks him out, he'll almost certainly retire. The only reason he's able to get good pay-days against tomato cans currently is because he's viewed by some people as a contender. Once he gets demolished by Wlad, he won't be any more, and at his age there will be no way back. So it would be ****** of him to take the fight with Wlad for anything under $1 million when he can get $400k per fight to fight tomato cans, and when he will automatically become Wlad's mandatory in a couple of fights' time if he keeps beating those tomato cans, which would entitle him to well over $1 million.

They were hypothetical figures, as Kushner stated.

But, Tua did get paid $500k for Cameron - that is well documented.....
and guess what..... Cameron got paid $500k as well

                  The point is.....
One final payday (if you can even call $400k for a Klitschko fight a payday) will not clear Tua's tax debt, and that fight would most likely be his final payday.

Why sell out like that? Just for your entertainment?

He needs to get wins/momentum, clear his tax debt, while manoevering into a position to garner a better offer than $400k for his retirement fund.

David Tua, just like David Haye, will obviously take that payday.....
when it makes sense to do so, and not before.

Neither of those guys are as desperate as you think

What if he didn't win ?

                    And come on, be serious.

It would be Tua's final payday, which would mean that he retires owing approximately 1.6mil in Tax.

That doesn't sound like a particularly bright move to me.

Tua most likely gets one chance here, otherwise he retires in debt.

He's gonna need at least 4-5 fights to fix this mess, and he must win all of them except of course the last one, which would ideally be against Wlad.

Don't you guys actually look at both sides of the coin before you type ?

Or is this all about your entertainment ?
