It was a low starting offer for what Tua's people were expecting. I doubt they could bargain it to over a million, which is what they want.

I'm not saying he deserves that because he doesn't. Personally I just want to see Tua retire.

I agree. And I think the current version of Briggs would have done better against shot old Barrett than Tua did.

Briggs has at least a punchers' chance in the first three rounds against Vitali, while shot old Tua would have no chance whatsoever. He'd be KOed and humiliated in a fight with Wlad.

ProTip for any starting out boxer:
          1) Dont sign a contract longer than 2 years because if you blowup then you will be making peanuts and stuck in a crappy contract
          2) Hire a FINANCIAL ADVISOR WHO IS NOT A RAPPER. Boxing is full of leeches who use fighter after fighter, its funny how all the boxers are broke but their coaches, managers, advisors, and promoters have $$$. Its because they tell them hey "use this guy for money advice" without doing the proper research.

Find some top ***ish accountant or financial advisor who will make you cash, not to sound stereotypical but these guys know how to handle money and make you cash, I use them for my finances, they also got mad hookups.

          3) INVEST INVEST INVEST! Live like a poor man and never show any money, you make 2m? 200k going to coach + 200k to other people who have a piece of you. If you want to have some play around cash thats fine but make sure you give your financial adviser 1m+ instead of blowing it on a car that will be worth 0 in 5 years.

          4) PAY YOUR TAXES! Ask your Financial Advisor for a tax hookup, trust me they control this field and will hook you up!

Its sad to see all these guys make money with their hard work putting their life on the line while these slime leeches suck money out of them then once they dont box they drop them like a bad habit and move on to the next prospect. Theres a reason why all these old rich men control boxing, its because they use people.

i still dont know why these guys would trust rappers and promoters to handle their finances? I wouldnt let these guys anywhere near my money or having them give me ANY advice but time after time all these dumb boxers get involved with people like Al Hymen (not a typo) who suck them dry.

Other than that he hasn't beaten anyone and has lost/struggled with some very mediocre fighters. Atleast Tua can claim to have beaten Ruiz, Maskaev, Rahman, Moorer.

Who knows, he hasn't fought anyone half-decent in years.
Briggs held the belt just 2.5 years ago, the stuff you are talking about happened a decade-and-a-half-ago! That's right, Tua beat Maskaev and Ruiz 14-15 years ago, Rahman was 8 years ago (very close decsion at that)and Moorer was a 35 year old former LHW who started fighting at 170. Stop living in the past, Briggs is light years ahead of current version of Tua.

Bernie Maddoff was ***ish, you saw how that turned out. Don't trust your money to ANYONE go and become financially literate yourself. 78% of pro athletes go broke 5 years after they finish playing, in that respect they are no different than some crackhead lottery winner, this was in the SI March 2009 edition. It's because they never even know how much money they have or how much they are spending, they never even open their statements.

So don't negotiate at all in that case? Cause his manager admitted to not even calling Boente back.

He won the belt 4 years ago, since then he went onto lose to Ibragimov, didn't fight for over 2 years until stringing a couple of KO wins over unknowns.

If we are going by past accomplishments, Tua's are more impressive despite Briggs holding a couple of belts. Briggs's first "title" was won 13 years ago by the way.

He made billions didnt he? There is always a bad apple in the bunch, but in general if you move somewhere who are you going to trust?

Yep, easy money = easy to spend.

People dont know the meaning of a hard dollar and they think hey i made a mil so im going to spend it all since im going to fight again! Why not!

Look at Chad Dawson, buying himself a 150k watch and some other dumb chit while basicly being a nobody and he's having financial troubles.

Look at people like Jay-Z and Tiger, Jordan. They actually invested their money smartly while their competitors are all broke after being "ballers" in their rented ferraris and rented mansions.

I'd rather work my ass off and invest my millions while living in a 1bedroom apartment driving a honda civic knowing that in 10 years I can retire and live like a king with all the cash I have made and invested.

its like all those 30k Millionaires that I would see when I bounced at clubs, these guys would pretend to be so rich while all the money they made during the week they would drop at the club trying to impress people, then go home on a bus.

Real people who have money or power never flaunt it, but those flaunting it crave it and are the broke ones.

Like look at all the rappers, they start rapping about how rich they are when still living in the hood, even in the music videos they show all these nice houses and bling bling. Reality is that the music company rents all of those things for the rapper during their career. Thats why you see so many of them become crackheads and in jail.

Instead of making 2 mill and buying property or investing it somewhere else they blow it on fake friends and ****** chit that has no long term value, then once they are old news they crave for that lifestyle again and will try to do anything to get it back.

What is your point really? That Tua is ducking the Klitschko brothers? Can he even afford to?

Tua over-prices himself out of the fight because of his tax problems, that should be rather obvious. The Klitschko brothers aren't likely going to give him more than a million, because he doesn't deserve it, but he won't fight for less. There is no point to it as he would be fighting for nothing.
