It dont matter how it looks its how it feels, anybody who takes a solid punch and is not expecting it is lucky to not get knocked out, that said....his tears and screams after were a little suspect...but he was hurt badly in my opinion prior to the cheapshot and it would have been interesting to see if he could have made it to the end...im no fan of his, but he was brilliant up until he got knocked down!!!

Dirrell was knocked out when Abraham landed a roundhouse right as Dirrell was prone on the canvas after slipping on a mat logo in the 11th round. He won the fight by disqualification.

It's good news that he's negative on the brain scans, which means he's probably not in quite the awful shape some feared. What I mean is, I'm guessing his boxing career is no longer in doubt, and I don't think his injuries are quite as serious as plenty of things you'll see caused by legal action in the ring. This is a pretty standard in-and-out time with the hospital that boxers go through after their fights, and with the brain scans being negative, he's quite probably out of the woods on the worst.

He's going to be OK, and he'll make his next fight with Andre Ward later this year (or early next year, the way this tournament is unraveling and with Ward not fighting Allan Green until June 19).

it means he was in no danger of a cerebro vascular accident...so there was no internal bleeding in his brain and there is no risk of him falling into a coma or getting paralyzed

Are you dense? Like I said earlier Scientists have done studies that show if you are relaxed you will take less damage in accidents. This is why you always see Drunk Drivers walking away from a crazy crash while other people die, its because they are relaxed and loose from the alcohol.

Same thing with this dude, he was RELAXED. If the punch was harder it wouldve KO'd him but it WOULDNT have did any BRAIN Damage because the chances are lower because he was relaxed.

If you ever took real punches or been knocked out you know you cant react right away like he did, he didnt even get STUNNED, he acted right away, and if you look at the HD version you will see it landed weak and I've been hit with slaps harder than he got hit.

a concussion is broad medical term...all boxers suffer concussions after a knock out, but theyre not all equally severe. what ure describing there are preventive measures...for dirrell to still have a concussion months later doesnt necessarily mean he has permanent damage

micky ward suffered a severe concussion after his third fight with gatti...he also headaches and dizziness months later after that fight
