duirrell got hit with a tap to the jaw and it looked like a light tap. It wasn't a Marciano hit on Walcott or a Tyson KO shot but a tap to the cheek. Dirrell is making the hit sound as the hardest punch in history. There is no place in boxing for a weak guy/girl like dirrell period. What a baby. He doesn't want to fight Ward. He has conned the boxing fans period.

If they do think it was from the Abraham fight wouldnt some kind of legal consequences be on the cards for Abraham? Could anyone clear that up - Im nottoo sure what the hell has happened to the Super Six now.
      Three really good points.....

1.) Not too sure what to make of all this ?

2.) Brain injuries are serious and shouldnt be taken lightly !!

3.) but the way this has unfolded doesnt exactly help Dirrell ?

I don't know what to make of this either Sroey ?

A real shame for what was a great competition.

Maybe 4-way tourneys are the way to go, as long as it is the TOP 4 fighters.

That way the competition doesn't take quite as long to complete, and we get clarification a little earlier..... and the fighters/networks dont have to make such a big commitment, and are not tied-up for as long as they were under the current format?

I think Steve Kim's piece on this fiasco is a good one. I'm going to take the sceptical position on this one.........
I think I'm bending that way too now.

Wow, this does not look good for Dirrell, either way.

Everybody is unhappy with this, Andre has virtually no support what-so-ever in this thread.

The earlier poster who said that this will cost Dirrell is probably correct.

I would also be joining the lynch-mob if I was 100% sure that the injury was exaggerated, the problem is that you dont EVER take chances with head injuries, and nobody has the right to tell anybody else that they should.

It's just that my very initial impression from that punch is that it was not actually that concussive. My very first thought was over the legality of the punch, I was surprised when Andre stayed down..... but, I (along with both of the ringside announcers) had no doubt at all that he was genuinely pole-axed until watching the slo-mo replay.

It looked a glancing blow, even though I have witnessed MANY genuine knockouts from similar punches over the years, albiet that most of the instances that I can recall occured at heavyweight.

But it is strange that it was quickly reported that the cat-scan was clear, only to show a problem weeks later..... and even stranger for Dirrell to keep the problem quiet.

What a fkn crying shame for the Super-6.

It is possible that both Abraham and Dirrell did boxing no favours in that fight. After all, let's not forget who really is at fault here.

But, the winner of the Super-6 will still be "the man" at 168, although the exclusion of Bute is now far more relevant due to the controversies over Taylor/Kessler/Green/Abraham/Dirrell, even Froch has provided controversy.

My boy Ward is lookin real purty right about now

Please boxing turn out some great fights during whats left of this tourney.
