  • NOT alot of Skill in Lacy.

Id like to say that i also didnt see Lacy as that impressive. I say that in judging his skill; where was his skill. He seems to have a Mike Tysonish style with out the skill. The old mike would jab, bob and weave his way in. Lacy threw alot of bombs, but most didnt connect solidly. Ive seen about three Lacy fights, and have had the same opinion on each. I fully understand that it was Reid holding on for dear life, but give me a break; Lacy should of stepped back and boxed for a while until Reid made a big mistake and then make him pay. The fight was sloppy and awkward and 100% unskilled by both fighters. In that division, Lacy will get by with his limited skill, its when he moves up that his overwhelming power will have less effect and then what. Someone is going to learn to stick the jab in his face the whole fight and give Lacy a really hard time.
In summary, will be unified in THAT division, but when he moves up; Lacy doesnt have alot of skill, just some power in THAT division.

I saw flashes of skill. He used his jab well at times last night. He has deadly combos as well. His defense is still suspect though.

Lacy has skill. Its hard to show skill when your fighting a someone that fought like John Ruiz with all the clinching that Reid was doing.

I don't think you can judge his skills by beating a bum.

Yeah, well he has enough physical ability to make up for any lack of skill you see.

This was his 20th pro fight. And he has enough skill already to dominate that division.

lacy has great skills on the inside, not that much from the outside, he wants to make it a wild brawl so he can use those uppercuts on the inside.

Exactly! You dont go to the Olympics without an assload of skill. He's still considered a 'newbie' by many as a pro. Given time he'll get sharper and become more defensively sound. The thing is, FOR NOW, what he's got is working.

Exactly... its also hard to see skill when Lacy's trying to behead Reid too.

I agree with restless. Lacy has a lot of skill plus he still has a lot to learn. That was his 20th fight everyone is talking like he's overrated and that was his 40th fight. No way. Lacy proved a **** load last night and it was pure domination.
