You know Lacy is going to win even though you don't want it to happen. Stop with the excuses for Calzaghe and Reid already. Reid got owned and you can't make any excuses for that if you watched the fight. Lacy's strength and determination and fire are too much for anybody at 168. So waht if Calzaghe is washed up that is what happens with boxing. No one is going to stay in their prime every single year they fight. It's the sport of boxing it's how its gone on through history. Lacy is gonna be flexing his muscles after the next fight too.

Lol, I did read the first paragraph, then said 'hell with it already'. But youre right...I scanned thru and saw several references to Benn, even though last nights fight had nada to do with him.

Everybody with a grain of sense expected Reid to do much worse than he did last night.

JuyJuy stop it already youre creating a lot of anti UK feelings just give Lacy the credit he deserves.I thought Reid would of put up a better fight but in the end I was just cringing.I didnt see any fight plan at all he just looked like an uninterested fighter getting one last payday.Credit to Lacy he fought a great fight and looked great.Cant wait for the Calzaghe fight.

It's very sad you think Jeff Lacy is over-rated. The guy has trained hard, and if you saw him fight before he was pro you would know how good of a fighter he is. Brit, in case you didn't know, St. Pete and Tampa Florida has some of the best fighters on the map. Jeff Lacy, Winky Wright, and Roy Jones Jr. Enough said

Seriously how can you detract from Lacy? You can say Reid was washed up but it does not change the fact that Lacy was the first one to ever knock him down let alone the first one ever to stop him and Reid was currently ranked #3 by the International Boxing Federation.

As far as Lacy's skills are concerned, against Reid Lacy definitely displayed more skills than I have seen of him in other fights. Against Vanderpool and against Rubin Williams, I dont think he showed alot of skills at all. When the fight was at range he was being outdone and was only having success when he was able to drive his man to ropes and dig in with flurries. Against Reid Lacy actually showed skills at fighting from a distance and a jab. I never really saw Lacy throw jabs before the way he did against Reid.

Also before the Reid fight, I thought Lacy was overrated as far as his power was concerned but his power was definitely impressive against Reid. Most of his punches seemed be having a bad effect on Reid and culminated in 3 knockdowns (maybe one illegit), and eventual a corner retirement. This was by far the most impressive I have seen Lacy of the 3 times I have seen him against good opposition.

I guess he wouldn't look impressive against an "unimpressive" opponent. If he is gauged by the abilities of his opponent, it would be hard to look all that good against someone who is committing every foul in the book. True, both of them were doing some dirty things, but Reid's tactics far outweighed Lacy's. But in the end, we all saw what happened.
