The major difference with the Ref in question and a lot of other championship fights... It didn't matter! Had the ref not been a moron, Lacy still would have won easily. If the Ref had donated 10 points to Reid, he still would have lost. He made mistakes, but none of them determined the fight.

I agree, and the ref didn't determine the outcome in the Hatton fight either. The only recent fight where the ref actually influenced the outcome was the Corrales/Castillo fight. There does seem to have been alot of ****ty performances recently though.

I honestly never understood, Corrales spit out his mouth piece, or it fell out. It happened again, then he was warned. Castillo then was out on his feet and was about to get murdered... the ref did his job and I don't see how it can be open to debate.

Corrales took it out with his glove the second time and was basically telling the ref that he was in no state to continue so it should have been stopped. At best he should have been forced to continue without it and not been given extra time to recover.

The ref hadn't warned him the first time, so he couldn't immediately disqualify him the 2nd time. He took it out, but also got up in time showing that he still wanted to fight. He got a point taken away and clearly would have been DQ'd had he done it again. The ref made the correct decision.
