I've seen a lot of fights in my day, and that is the greatest fight I've ever seen.

        Never seen this fight.

Am downloading now, though, so that's my night sorted.

I fell in love with Chico Corrales (no ****) after that fight. I had never really respected him much going into the Castillo fight. He was always just a tall guy with good punching power to me. His defense was a hot mess and I used to think his chin was kind of suspect (i thought roberto garcia hurt him multiple times).

          BUT,

          BUT,

          BUT,

That Castillo fight changed everything. I had never, ever seen such a display of heart, stubborness and pride until that fight. Both men showed BALLS, but Corrales, on that nite, was the greatest warrior I had ever witnessed.

The fight itself was already immortal going down the stretch, and just when I thought it couldn't get any better, the way that last round unfolded sealed it in boxing lore.

Sometimes I still get pissed off at Tony Weeks, but hey, it is what it is. I personally thought Castillo would've gone on to win by k.o.

But Castillo got him in the rematch.

I booked a room, a flight and bought tickets to the rubbermatch, only to end up in Vegas with no fight.

We were sooo pissed off that day. Spent the weekend in the hotel muttering to ourselves.

IMO one of the best fights I've ever seen..The only fights that come close is Pryor vs AA,and SRL vs Duran the first ones of both fights..

Yeah it was Roman, it wasn't the same level of skill.

But that was one Gatti Ward level of brutality. And the fact that they were from the same area and had beef in the past made that a great story and an even better fight.

I don't think it possible to show more heart in a sporting event than those two did. You could tell that those two would of fought that fight for free. Amazing fight

I HIGHLY recommend everyone look for Escalante vs Roman. IMO there isn't a fight even close to it for the FOTY.

A third fight would have been epic no doubt........as far as the 10th round.....I challenge anyone to give me a better round than that one........yeah I to get a little pissy when he stoped the fight I mean he could stoped the fight much earlier when Corrales looked out on his feet.........but it is what it is....he did get his in the second fight......

When Corrales came over here to watch one of Hatton fights after beating Castillo he got a standing ovation, He was shocked at how much love he got from the people here, There was talk of him fighting Hatton at that time but it never came to fruitition.

Corrales spitting out his mouthpiece several times ruined it for me. Pussy ass move.
