im talking about ricans on the island...here cotto is nothing and juanma is everything right now... but cotto gets lots of love from ricans that dont live here

I live in Miami and there's a pretty big Puerto Rican population here..

and one thing I've noticed about all Puerto Ricans is, no matter who they are or if they even like boxing or sports at all for that matter, they always watch their boys.. it was Trinidad before and Cotto now.

That said, every single Puerto Rican I know and have talked boxing to, says Manny Pacquiao is like the greatest thing in the world(likely because he ****d Cotto) and they all say he's unstoppable- even against Margarito.

Am I correct in my observation? Ricans?

Puerto ricans recognize talent and are not jealous. They dont have issues. And they praise all good athletes , in all sports , no matter where they are from.

But we are the most hated latinos in the world. Other Latinos dont even consider us Latinos. Since we are given citizenship at birth. They think of us as a joke. I like to think of it as a defense mechanism for their inferiority complex.

I was rooting for Cotto. But Cotto is not a peoples champ. He has said it himself. And people dont really love him like they use to love Tito , or like they now love Lopez , even Calderon , Gomez , Beniotez , Vasquez , etc etc etc. Mainly because he dont want the love.

But Pac is the ****. I cant wait to see him destroy anoither potato sack.

I think you hit it right on the money, with the hating we get and the way Cotto doesn't care about the love - he said himself that he lost his passion for the fight game at one point, but I still support him - a fighter doesn't need to love the lime light for me to appreciate him.
