How Do You Suggest Roy Fights Tarver October 1st?

If you were Roy's trainer what strategies or styles would you suggest he use to defeat the magic man?

I would suggest that he stick to some basics of boxing with a quick jab and movement...Tarver is a counter puncher to, so for Jones to move in and try to hurt him like he did in the rematch is a mistake...

he should basically stay on the outside, not try any fance stuff, box and move, stick the jab, and concentrate on defense...then eventually Tarver will begin to come forward if he is losing rounds which will give Jones the opportunity to counter punch him...

but I think the ONLY thing on Jones' mind should be just winning the fight...not necessarily embarassing Tarver or trying to knock him out...but just stealing rounds and winning on points...

He should swarm Tarver and not let Tarver get anytime to time anything. Glen did it, Roy should do it.

Was thinking the same thing. Roy never really faught as a swarmer, and you can't teach an old dog new tricks. If he is in shape he should still be able to outbox Tarver. If he just does what he "do" then he should be able to score a UD most likely.
