People either don't know, or don't want to. Catchweights have always been in boxing, if they weren't welcomed...then their would be hundreds of divisions based on a per pound bases. The gap between 140 and 147, is 7 pounds. fighters can negotiate a weight that pleases the both of them, an equal terms agreement. I'm a high believer in, if you don't like it, don't sign it.
and nowadays, you have an entire day to rehydrate...is manny gonna weigh more than Margarito on fight night? No, nowhere near it.

I would rather have two fighters agree to a catchweight than go and gamble on a guy I think is at a disadvantage if he was to weigh any more....I'm into making money, and the overnight hydration, is something that actually concerns me. i'm very interested in seeing how much Margarito is going to weigh on fight night.
