That way when Manny wins, it would look that much more spectacular.

Outside of two posters with low post count (which are either trolls or alts) I haven't seen that in this thread.

I respect the mans opinion but I think it's pointless because no matter what anyone thinks, whats gonna happen is gonna happen.

The better man will win come fight night, so I take a lot of these fight predictions with a grain of salt.

            • floyd keeps distance and frustrates pac to a split decision
            • pac out-hussles floyd and wins on points
            • pac takes early lead, floyd takes over in the end, DRAW (setting up rematch)
            • floyd KOs pac (unlikely)
            • pac KOs floyd (maybe... but still unlikely)

its always hard to bet against an undefeated fighter, but floyd has patterns that we all notice. the thing is floyd snatches his opponents confidence and makes them hesitate to throw... then he jumps in and steals rounds.

we've seen time and time again what is effective on floyd... an effective and busy jab... solid combos that he cant predict/counter.... high volume punch output (thats why i think p-will would be an interesting matchup for floyd)... even martinez will out-hustle floyd. but floyd will NEVER fight them.

as for pac, we all know his flaws.... yet he always finds a way to win... although i think floyd outclasses pac easily from a technical standpoint, pac has numerous intangibles that seem to work in his favor.
This is one of best posting I've read and I concur. But, but, but...this is if we're talking about the PRIME MAYWEATHER and that's about a couple of years ago, at least.

As a student of pugilism, I love discussing boxing technicalities but there's also a flaw on discussions alone and that is why they fight on the ring but this is the closest thing we can - cover all possibilities.

And in my humble opinion, you didn't state that Mayweather's skills have shown some erosion also while Pacquiao is still peaking or just peaked now.

            These are very important factors.

Another one is that sure, volume punching might not work against Mayweather but he hasn't fought against a Pacquiao type with uncanny ability to follow-up punches in seemingly all directions and with authority.

And therefore while you have posted a very objective and astute observations of a technical fighter as Mayweather, the "beef" is still on the real fight.

We can only speculate intelligently if you will and I do agree with your postings. Just that reality isn't all that and then some. We can cover as much objective and intelligent logic into the fight the way Mayweather fights but the subjective part is as much as a detente'.

And that is why I think the hesitation in part of Mayweather because he can also see a potential disaster in the heavy hands/quick hands of Pacquiao.

So ultimately, we can map out all possibilities or rather potentiality and probabilities of the fight...but REALITY always have something up in his/her sleeves that is almost always unnoticed.

And that is the subjectivity of a fight. Pacquiao poses more threat than we think, in my humble estimation and it is more than enough to scare Mayweather.

I'm no ***** or ******* but I agree that mayweathers style would beat pacquiao. May is Marquez x10 and look how close Pac fought with jmm. Only chance Pac has is to blitz Mayweather early on when he seems most vulnerable as guys like zab and Mosley showed. But if Floyd gets into his rhythm its curtains for Pac.

Less be honest here. Pacquiao is a fighter, not a boxer and Abraham and the rest of the unbias boxing community sees it the same way.
I'm not a fan of either so I can state my oppinion without any reservations.
Pacquiao has a punchers chance to beat Mayweather. He will have to be a fast agresor and after connecting if He doesn't hurt Mayweather, its over.
                    He's not winning by points.

I see a very action full fight, but I see the better boxer winning the D.

Alexander probably lost a few thousand Pinoy fans, but at least He was honest and not political like most want to be.
Arthur ABRAHAM does know his boxing. You on the other hand know shit.

Why are you bringing up Alexander and why would he lose a few thousand Pinoy fans?

                    Dumbass.

Good post, I think he is scared, not of Manny himself exactly but his undefeated record. He's been boasting about it for a long time and its been the foundation of his legacy, Mayweather has way more to lose than Pac. If they fight in 2011 I hope Mayweather still in sharp condition, I just see him prevailing and frustrating Pac - he's that hard to hit which is why JMM, Oscar, Hatton have all said they think Mayweather would win. If Mayweather doesn't fight Pac or another real reputable opponent then it would be a real shame..
