Roy Jones is way more likeable than Floyd Mayweather, though. Mayweather sorta seems like he's putting on a show for the audience, Roy is just being Roy.Comment

those bums roy fought were top 10 fighters and mandatories.
hell the clinton woods roy fought would probably whoop the **** out of carl froch.
clinton woods definitely fought a higher caliber of opposition than joe calzaghe.Comment

So what you're saying is that all of Roy's defenses were on par with Carl Froch.
You guys love making my point for me.Comment

he MADE those people bums. if he fought his mandatory fights, you know, to keep his belts, hbo quickly called those fighters bums before they stepped in the ring.
MANDATORY challengers! so, nowadays, champions are criticized for not bothering to defend their belts but, for him, they had to come up for new rules due to what he did to random challengers.
roy jones jr. destroyed his body due to his ignorant arrogance. a 34 year old man does not "shed" close to 18 pounds of MUSCLE after pushing yourself to the limit to force it on your body in six.
losing gets fighters discredited by these "fans" that don't know what the heck they are talking about and haven't went back to really learn the history of the fighters they are talking about.Comment

For the record, RJJ was a great fighter, no denying that, but his resume leaves a lot to be desired.
Funny how we blame Floyd for wanting 60/40 vs. Pac, but none of that criticism is leveled at RJJ for wanting 60/40 vs. Hopkins for the rematch.Comment

that's true BUT......
that means that people , at least at one point , thought they were good.
i don't know why we're having this debate anyway.
the 2 schmucks that started this thread are David Haye and Joe Calzaghe fans.
not really 2 guys that have duran/ali level names on their resume......Comment
