This would of been awesome, but Mr Jones ****ed it up..

Don King comment (February 21st 1993)
"I am in the process of putting together a double-header at the Thomas&Mack for around May or June, Chris Eubank defending against Gerald McClellan and Nigel Benn defending against Roy Jones, and the winners of each fight will meet eachother later in the year man." - Don King

The reason it didn't happen was because Roy Jones chickened out of fighting Benn, he was Benn's mandatory at the time and had a chance to fight for the WBC title. But Jones backed out. Benn V Jones at that time had fight of the century written all over it and Jones backed out.
After winning the vacant WBO middleweight title (vacated by Eubank), McClellan had five super-middleweight wins in a row and was now Eubank's mandatory.

Based on what? Beating a guy called Hopkins who was unknown at the time and not even ranked in the top five at 160 at the time? Beating a dehydrated, severely weight-drained Toney? Give me a break. Benn, Eubank and McClellan punch much harder than those cats, and Jones' chin has been proven weak in his last couple of fights (the chin was always there!).

Jones wrecked this adventure because he was too scared to fight these guys, if he wasn't too scared then why did he back out?

At 160-168 Roy was probably the greatest fighter ever. I dont think it would have been much competition at the time for Roy. Although I do believe Gerald would have given him the hardest fight and I would have liked to see that. But Roy is still a far superior fighter than those mentioned. I dont believe Roy backed out because he was scared but because he didnt want to deal with Don King.

ROTFLMAO...This has to be one of the funniest posts Ive read since December. I rarely post (b/c I dont feel like arguing with kids) but I read everything yall say...This is one of the funniest. "...160-168 Roy was probably the greatest fighter ever....."

Well, I shouldnt be all that floored. At least you didnt say 175 where I could look at his last two fights to see he "was probably the greatest"...lmao....the greatest and roy jones should NOT be in the same sentence...
