James was extremely dehydrated, and no he wasn't 1994 Ring Magazine fighter of the year, James was 1991 Ring Magazine fighter of the year. But he was fighting it out with Sweet Pea for the #1 lb4lb spot at the time of fighting Jones, and if he'd of been in shape against Jones he'd of won. Do you have any idea how much it takes away from your performance when you lose 50+lbs bodyweight in just six weeks? Toney was a passenger against Jones. It's not an excuse it's the truth, he was severely dehydrated. -
Roy was the rings fighter of the yr 94 cos he beat toney ,also Roy was the rings fighter of the yr 97 after avengin dq defeat to griffin in one round and i think Roy was in 03 as wel cos of winnin heavyweight titleComment

One thing I remember Toney wasn't the James Toney we knew when he fought Roy Jones. He was going through alot of **** at that time, yes he had the weight problem, but he had many personal problems at that time in his life, this was a known fact before Jones fight. I knew he was going to lose that fight like a week before. If James Toney's head is in the game & trains hard for a fight, he will be very hard to beat. I will pick Toney at his best over Jones at his best. Toney can be beat by by B or C level fighter if is head not in the game. One thing I love about Toney, he will not duck anyone, he will fight anyone.Comment

He wouldn't fight Benn or Eubank without a 60/40 share of the purse, his people sent Eubank's people a contact demanding a 60/40 share of the purse and when Eubank ripped it up Toney started yelling to everybody that Eubank was scared of him (when in reality, Toney was avoiding Eubank because Eubank wanted to fight Toney in Toney's backyard providing the money was right).Originally posted by ParodiusOne thing I love about Toney, he will not duck anyone, he will fight anyone.Last edited by JUYJUY; 08-06-2005, 09:02 AM.Comment

The biggest problem with you people is that some of you are not reading whats being said, your simply posting, waiting for someone to agree with you so you can say you ****ing agree. This is pointless, alot of whats being said is a bunch of bull**** for the most part, and the amount of pathetic slander being thrown around is what contributes to nothing being learned, or really discussed.
Jones never fought these people, they didint go out of their way to fight him, if they did, the fight would have likely happened, but even if it didint so ****ing what. This is old. What if the Blazers drafted Michael Jordan instead of Sam Bowie, what if Saddam actually had WMD's, what if JuyJuy STFU about Benn/Eubank for at least a ****ing week.
What if what if what if, its ****ing 2005, enough already, the ****ing fights didint happen, period.Comment

Not true, It was Eubank & Benn didn't want to fight Toney. 60/40 was very good offer for Benn & Eubank. Especially Toney was the big name at that time, especially in the world, you see Benn & Eubank was never big names in the US. Benn had a little bigger name then Eubank in the US. I don't blame Toney calling Eubank a coward. Why would Eubank rip the very good offer from Toney. Eubank was a good fighter & he screwed himself up. Toney & Eubank fight would've never been a PPV in the United States, because Eubank was not a star in the US.Originally posted by JUYJUYHe wouldn't fight Benn or Eubank without a 60/40 share of the purse, his people sent Eubank's people a contact demanding a 60/40 share of the purse and when Eubank ripped it up Toney started yelling to everybody that Eubank was scared of him (when in reality, Toney was avoiding Eubank because Eubank wanted to fight Toney in Toney's backyard providing the money was right).Comment

Benn and Eubank were bigger names world-wide because all of their fights were shown world-wide, whereas Toney's were only shown in the US (those that were shown). So Toney had a chance to get noticed world-wide by fighting Benn or Eubank, and 60/40 wasn't fair because Benn and Eubank were world champions too so it should of been 50/50 shares. Toney could of (in my opinon wouldn't of) held the IBF, WBC and WBO belts all at once as well having millions of dollars in the bank, so he avoided Benn and Eubank. Toney demanded a 60/40 with home advantage against world champions, Benn and Eubank were content on a 50/50 in Toney's backyard. So it was Toney doing the ducking.Originally posted by ParodiusNot true, It was Eubank & Benn didn't want to fight Toney. 60/40 was very good offer for Benn & Eubank. Benn wanted the Jones fight in 1993, he made that clear and said that it would of been a real "tear-up". Eubank was ringing Jones up and ringing HBO up trying to arrange a fight.Originally posted by Black JesusJones never fought these people, they didint go out of their way to fight him,Comment

If you are gonna make a direct quote, at least get it right. Manipulating facts as always to promote your worthless cause. Jones proved himself. Nobody you list will be remembered as ever being worth a damn. Why don't you, Juy, and the rest of your "Circle Jerk Crew" get a room and beat off on each other to old Chris Eubank videos? You talk a lot of **** on a message board. Your punk ass is pretty damn brave behind a keyboard.Originally posted by McKayWhat a dilluted piece of **** you are to declare a man who never fought the best oppositon in any weight class "the greatest to lace up gloves". He was the best ever to lace up gloves in your your mind yet he was never Ring Magaizine or Linear Champ in the Light Heavyweight divison let alone other weight classes. If Jones was the "greatest ever to lace up gloves" you think he would be more than willing to prove it. Instead of cowering away from Dariusz Michalczewski, Gerald McClelan, Nigel Benn, Chris Eubank, Steve Collins, Michael Nunn, Graciano Rochigiani and others.
#1 Most ******ed statement ever
Mr Unstoppable declares Roy Jones Jr "The greatest to ever lace up gloves".
This is the defintion of an unobjective lying ******. Or the definiton of a patheticaly ****** ballsucking moron.Comment
