He beat c+ underacheiving Brandon Vera before that he got beat by a Badly faded Antonio Noguiera. Not exactly prime now is he?
Sure he did ok against Brock but a lot of that had to do with it being a wrestler vs a wrestler and Randy had always been the better wrestler than Brock.
Plus all of Tonys failures occured in a boxing ring, he could of fought Tony in his prime and the result would have been exactly the same.Last edited by pistol whip; 09-23-2010, 06:51 PM.Comment

No it just means that he is the most accomplished boxer and not the most dangerous striker. You do realize there are kickboxers and Mu Thai fighters in the UFC correct? Tony just happens to be the best of the very few boxers in MMA but as far as being the most lethal striker ha! Hes far from it.
And the guy he was fighting was older than him and well past his prime himself for *** sake!
So again what does age have to do with not knowing how to defend a single leg takedown?
Main difference being is that Couture doesn't have the wear and tear on his body the way Toney has.Couture hasn't absorbed as many blows as Toney has, which is why he's still competiting.Toney hasn't had a relevant win in years.Couture is not shot.
Toney was too slow and shot to react to anything.Couture wouldn't have even risked shooting the way he did if Toney wasn't completely shot.Toney couldn't do anything but stand there and hope Couture would come within his punching range. His legs are completely gone so all he could do was stand there like an idiot.Comment
