I dont see how a KO loss could benefit Khan in any way. People would just say he got beat by a guy who's far less talented and wouldnt delve into the specifics. A KO loss would further hurt his psyche, although he would have people coming out of the woodworks to fight him.

A lot of it has to do with your confidence and your status.
