If that happened though ppl will say he ran from the puncher and his chin wasn't tested, but if he ends up in an all out war with Maidana, takes some bombs and holds up to them well but late in the fight gets stopped does he gain more credibility than if he actually wins in what would be the smarter more technical strategy for him?

Even if he did get stopped by Maidana in this case, it proves he doesn't have such a glass chin and he isn't scared of punchers because Maidana is a huge puncher capable of stopping even someone with a good punch resistance.

    What do you think?
Khan simply needs to get the victory, The critics dont care if he goes toe-to-toe or not they will always critic him.

Khan just needs to listen to Roach and get the victory.

Khan is NOT the new Diego Corrales.

Called me old fashioned, but a fighter gets more credibility if he wins.

If he outboxers and stays away from Maidana all fight and wins. = Smart.

If he engages with Maidana, goes toe to toe trying to impress people and gets KO'd. = Dumb.

Like I said, I'm old fashioned, where I come from, winning is more credible than losing.

Sure idea is to win but if he does it without having Maidana land anything significant on him then the same criticisms will be there and it in reality would not have proven anything he set out to prove.

This fight is hardly even about if Khan is better than Maidana as a boxer everyone already knows that he is, it more about proving that he is not avoiding punchers because his rep for having a glass chin.

Regardless of who wins without Maidana having landed some hard leather on Khan this fight is a waste of time for fans and didn't prove anything we didn't know already.

You're giving Khan too much credit Spray Baby.

Even if he tried to play it safe, Maidana would get to him at some point. He's too dynamic an offensive fighter to be kept at bay by a guy who employs running tactics.

But I realize you never give any credit to guys who move forward, so this might be moot with you.

I am a big fan of Angulo and Froch, but Maidana though a good pressure fighter with power is crude defensively and at a significant speed disadvantage with Khan here.

I still think when Maidana landed something hard on that crystal its going to shatter into a million pieces.

I agree with this,i want to see khan take a few hard shots and come back to win, whether it will happen or not who knows,i see him boxing a safety first fight-he will have seen ortiz/maidana and learnt what not to do

I dont see how a KO loss could benefit Khan in any way. People would just say he got beat by a guy who's far less talented and wouldnt delve into the specifics. A KO loss would further hurt his psyche, although he would have people coming out of the woodworks to fight him. Inevitably I think Khan's chin will keep him from going beyond the eschelon he's capable of. Terry Norris didnt have the greatest of chins either but IMO he had more offensive talent than Khan, more power at his weight, and more natural ability to outweigh any lack of punch resistance he carried into the ring.
