Nice post Miron i left out Peden he was a very good win for both Barrera and Marquez. All those BS doesnt matter. We're talking about who is the best among the 3 fighters right?
and how do we determine that? we look at the fighters they beat and that's it. We determine purely on resume to be as objective as we can be.
Its very hard to argue if we lay down the data mate. cmon. there's no opinion on this.
Morales-------Barrera------Marquez
Pacquiao(27)----Hamed-------Barrera(33)
Barrera ---------Morales--------Cassamayor(37)
Jones ----------McKinney-------J.Diaz
Chavez --------Tapia ----------Medina
Zaragoza ------Salud ----------Gainer
Chi -------------- Ayala ---------Juarez
Hernandez----- Juarez ----------Peden
McCullough-----A. Sanchez------Salido
Ayala -----------Peden ----------PoloComment

I see that's how you look at it.It does matter because your "data" assumes JMM is the same age as the other two. You highlight this by including Barrera and Casa's age in Marquez' resume as if JMM picked on some old guys when he was in his prime.
When in FACT, he was older than Barrera when he whooped him and only 2 years younger than Casa.
Your chart gets nothing from me.
But JMM was nowhere to be found when he was 22 to 27 yrs old. His star shone on the 1st pacquiao fight.Comment

I think as it stands, Morales should be ranked the best out of the three. But JMM should be ranked over Barrera in my view, because he owned Juarez and beat Barrera when he was coming up from 126 even if the fight was close. But I think JMM will pass both of them when it's all said and done because I believe he'd beat all the top 140 lbers contrary to popular belief on here.Comment

anyone who thinks that Marquez is above Barrera or Morales are just caught up in the current day hype about him: because hes the most relevant right now, you believe him to be the best of the three.
I even had Marquez beating Pacquiao in the second fight, but lets face it: that fight could have gone either way. When it gets down to it, the best non-controversial win of Marquez's career was over Juan Diaz. no offense to Juan, but he certainly isnt the calibur of say a win over prime Hamed, Morales, Barrera, Pacquiao, or McKinney.
heck, even a shopworn Barrera came extremely close to upsetting Marquez if you ask me. say what you will, but Barrera landed a lot more on Marquez's face and ended up dropping him, despite being beaten up most of that round. Its still amazing to me that such a clean knockdown was not called in his favor.
Morales even outdid Marquez in his own style when he faced Pacquiao.
I love Marquez and his style, but he isnt nearly as good as some people make him out to be, especially defensively. Ive seen him pretty beat up in multiple situations when he probably shouldnt have.
aside from the fact that Morales and Barrera both have better wins than Marquez, I dont see how Marquez would have beaten either of them in their primes.Comment
