Business wise is a bad move. But, fuck that we boxing fans we shouldn't care about that.

For boxing fans the best thing to do was enter the tournament. 3 top elite bantamweight did. And, Vic not a bantamweight elite but has name entered it.

too bad 2 other elite bantamweights didn't enter. That to me is a bad move not what Vic is doing. As a boxing fan that is.

Yeah because they all care which fights we want to see. Get real dude, boxing is about money now. Money first pride second. They are the ones putting their ass on the line I think its fair to stop being selfish. Even if us as boxing fans want to see the fight, who are we to critisize them for wanting to make more money.

Again that is all fine and dandy.

Business wise yes dumb move for Vic.

However, for boxing fans no entering the tournament was the best thing that could happen and for the sport of boxing period.

Is a shame that 2-4 other elite bantamweights did not enter a great tournament like this.

I wouldn't critisize Montiel, he has showed that he will fight anyone and anywhere if the conditions are right. Even if I wanted him in the tournament.

would like to see him against moreno.....wouldn't mind seeing him give aj banal a chance,he's only lost once,but is fighting on that same date...there aren't any ranked fighters that stand out here,just the champs themselves,but they are in this tournament,so it probably won't be somebody that good

i agree,especially in a sport where if this is your job,i mean montiel is over 30,they don't make much money in his division,so he has to make the most he can while he can,he's a three division champ,a unified champ,deservs to get paid good money or look for the biggest fights

You saying it is dumb for Vic to go in the tournament. Business wise I agree.

However, as a fan how can you say you don't want to see a tournament? Where the best is fighting the best. That is what every fans wants to see.

So why you as a fan taking shots at Vic for doing what fans want fighters to do?

I was skeptical about him and Donaire because of Donaires size advantage, but if Hernan Marquez could go 8 wit Donaire and that was coming up in weight to fight than I dont see why Montiel couldnt go 12 and win a UD or possibly KO him cause Montiel got some pop not to mention good chin and heart.

Bantamweight is probably my favorite division at the moment. I want to see Montiel vs Donaire Mares vs Perez II and then Montiel vs Mares or Perez

Agbeko, Moreno, Cermeno, Hasagawea, and Darchinyan are all game too gonna be an exciting upcoming 2 years

This is the eternal struggle for boxing fans. We want to see the best fights but the boxers themselves have to take care of their families and should ALWAYS get the most money that they possibly can.
