I mean it cant be a bad thing just because you say it is, and i hate paul williams by the way but I see nothing wrong with this so long as both fighters agree to it.
I have seen this point been explain to you more than once.

No it ***ing hasn't! Vague comments that essentially just translate into "well i just think catchweights are wrong" don't explain any valid point whatsoever. If you can do better job explaining yourself then do so otherwise shut the *** up!

I think its fair to ask for a valid explination rather than just giving me your unreasonable opinion.

I don't mind that Paul Williams wants to fight at a weight of 157 or that the WBC belt is at stake since that in within the middleweight range. Whats not right is that he wants Sergio to do the same even though Middleweight is up to 160lbs.

If you want to fight for the Middleweight title of the World, the limit is 160.
Paul can come at what ever weight He wants, but the title limit is 160.
Any other limit created by the challenger is a punk move.

I would love to see PW trying to convince Marvin Hagler to defend his title at 157!! He would tell PW, GTFOH! punk, if you want my title, COME AND GET IT!
In this case though, it is not to big of a deal and I don't even see why he wants the Cw because they are both roughly the same size and probably walk around weighing near the same.

If Pavlik was still MW champ and PWill wanted a 157 catch weight I could see your point because he has to cut alot of weight to make 160 but here it just doesn't matter at all and won't effect the out come of the fight in anyway.

Gentlemen: The point is that the challenger should never dictate limits on the Champion. The point is that no boxer should change the rules for their advantage.
If any boxer wants a Middleweight title, the limit is 160 and both fighters can come in at what ever weight always that it doesn't pass the limit of 160.

IMO if a challenger has to set lower limits to EARN a title, they should fight at a lower weight class.
IF Paul Can't fight at 160, then SIMPLY DON'T.
Fight at 154 and earn that title.

I have seen a lot of politics in boxing, just not politics made up by boxers.
I have NO respect for any of the coward catchweight beatches.

Agreed, I don't understand why people are defending this catchweight for a title crap. Martinez won at 160 and he should defend at 160....simple as that.
