I think romey meant that people underestimate Maidana's ability to get to his opponent, not his ability to turn it into an inside fight.

Maidana will have to take punches, but that is his style.

Maidana may try to get an early KO, but I don't think he has much chance of succeeding with that. Don't judge him on the Ortiz fight, because Ortiz mixed it up when he should have boxed. Khan will box from the outside and won't ever mix it up. But I think Maidana does have a decent chance of getting a late knock-out. He applies real pressure in every round, and Khan has never had to face that sort of pressure from someone who can punch hard. See the Maidana-Kotelnik fight, which Maidana deserved to win narrowly in most people's opinions - Maidana did better against Kotelnik than Alexander did, except on the official cards. Kotelnik has a granite chin and a very tight defence, but Maidana got some of his punches home in every round of the fight. That sort of incessant pressure will be a serious test for Khan.

And although Khan dominated most of his fight with Kotelnik, he wilted badly in the last two rounds, and if Kotelnik had a big punch, Khan would have been in serious trouble in the last round. I see the last three rounds as being extremely dangerous for Khan.

Agreed, but I'd be astonished if Maidana isn't at his fittest for this fight. It's a fight he's been building up to for over a year, and he will never have a better chance of getting a belt. Plus he won't under-estimate Khan like he under-estimated chop-chop.

Maidana certainly doesn't have the head movement or footwork that Frazier and Duran had, and doesn't have anything like the boxing skills that Duran had; but he's still an effective pressure fighter. He's not one-dimensional like people keep saying. He's certainly not P4P material, but he's a very good pressure fighter, and is a bone fide top 5 Jr Welterweight. And Khan hasn't fought anyone who can punch hard since Prescott, so anyone who thinks this will be an easy fight for him is a fool. Roach knows better, he says it's an extremely dangerous fight for Khan.

I don't think Maidana will KO Khan early but I suspect a 4th or 6th rd KO...I also had Maidana winning the fight against Kottie..I think Kottie takes a good punch tho,I don't know how Khan is gonna take punches from a puncher like Maidana...I only brought up the Ortiz fight cause when Ortiz was drop he tried to box and use Movement but Maidana was still able to get to him and make him pay..I see an exciting fight no matter what...

I think Maidana maybe is P4P if he could prove it...I'll be honest with you I think Bradley should be top 10 P4P and for Maidana is the fighter(at the moment)I most worry about at 140lb...I don't think Devon beats Bradley,I don't think Khan can either but he has talent and skills so that fight would be dangerous for Bradley...Maidana is a good pressure fighter and is a threat to every fighter in the 140lb Div...I'd even pick him vs Berto call me crazy but I think he is a decent fighter, but this fight with Khan will prove who Maidana is and where his career in going...

He should pick on his own size and fight the guys in the 140lb division.
