WTF. Why the hell would there be a catchweight in this fight? There is absolute no reason for a catchweight in this fight, it's just plain ducking on Williams behalf!

if he did that then you and the rest would cry like B!tches about how he "DUCKED MARTINEZ" *** that I would rather them do a catch weight and FIGHT instead of not doing anything and NOT FIGHTING

I really like Paul Williams. He's a good kid and will fight anyone. So my picking him to repeat is based on bias. The truth is, this is as close to a pick 'em as you can get. And the possibilities of what actually happens inside the ring are endless. However, those who want to know the case for Williams need look no further than the last eight rounds of the first bout. Williams fought very, very well - won the bulk of the rounds and seemed to have Martinez figured out. He still took some shots but landed more and took over down the stretch. I don't know if he can take that many punches this time. But he fights like he's willing to walk through hell. So far he has and I suspect that youthful determination, the kind Kelly Pavlik seemingly wasted away, will be the difference.

Yes, this fight took a long time to be made. And still hasn't been announced yet. It definitely will be now.

The catchweight isn't an issue. The bulk of those whining are Pacquiao fans. Most Martinez fans are fully confident in a fight at 157, something that benefits both fighters.

I would have said Williams is a b!itch if neither Martinez never fought under 160 but it doesn't even Matter, if anything the fact that Martinez doesn't have to make the full 160 might actually benefit him because that is an advantage when the FASTER Fighter can carry LESS Weight

Paul Williams is going to ***in crush this overrated hyped up BUM ANYWAY, then most of you will be crying about how "Martinez is 35" blah blah blah after he does it

I don't have much points but I will gladly bet what I have on Williams beating Martinez decisively in this match

Lara would beat them both Anyway lol...ESPECIALLY Martinez!

bottom line is...*** the weight...as long as they are getting in the ring!!!
No disrespect. But, I think from top to bottom(Except for the last line) this is a terrible post.

I think what seperates these two is stamina. Martinez can not keep Pauls pace and he fade throughout that fight and had rounds where he did nothing but backpedal at times. At one point I remember him slipping and staying on the ground to catch his breath.

He faded against Pavlik too. Williams can fight 15 rounders. I think he will overwhelm him with volume again.

catch weight fight criticisms are empty, ignorant & unsubstantiated due to the 24 rehydration that is in effect in this era of boxing & the absolute lack of medical research about the effects or non effects of catch weights.

Yeah, I agree. But Martinez will be looking to counter. Can he seriously hurt Williams? Yes. Williams got up and walked through it the first time. If he can duck a few more of those, Martinez will be facing an uphill battle (literally lol).
